I arrived at work, a full 35 minutes had gone by and I didn't feel a thing. I figured it was a bust and was freaking out about how miserable my shift was going to be. A bit more time passed, and while I can't be sure of the timing of it, after about an hour or so I noticed that not only was I feeling a lot better physically, but my mood improved a great deal as well. It was like an epiphany; I was walking around, cooking for elderly people and singing along to the music on my old iPod. I was actually singing. Dancing at points even. I might have been a bit paranoid if everyone who worked there wasn't using in some form or another, but almost everyone there had a vice. Most the same as me.
I felt the obvious head rush, the overwhelming happiness and warm feeling flowing through my body as I moved, all while feeling a strange euphoria. It was quite different from opiates, almost synthetic feeling. Not to say it felt grimy or off-putting, just artificial.
The buzz seemed to last for something like 14 hours, peaking around the 4 hour mark with a nice, gentle slope to the bottom. There's no real feeling of a crash and while I did feel a bit tired, I would attribute that more to working a 10 hour shift and expending my energy singing and dancing like a fucking moron.
I ended up trying gabapentin again a few more times, and the 100 mg tablets in large doses seem to have the best effect. I have recently come across the 300 mg tablets, and starting at 1200 mg with these caused me to become incredibly nauseous. Starting at about 600-900 mg and building up from there produces a pretty chill high, taking another 300 mg capsule after about 45 minutes, and any subsequent tablet every hour. Seems to keep up a high rather nicely.
