Background: 31 year old male, 190 lb/86 kg body weight. Past experience includes DXM, cannabis, psilocybin, LSD, salvia, and MDMA. What follows is my first research chemical experience. Both trials were at home, with no plans made. I take Wellbutrin 450 mg daily.

Initial test: 0.5 mg (1/2 blotter) administered buccally, held for ~40 minutes. I took this low dose to test for adverse reaction. First alerts around T+0:30: mild anxiety, some mild visuals (shimmering), slight headache and muscle tension. Two AC&C tablets (aspirin, codeine, and caffeine) were administered and pain subsided. Effects reached a peak by 1 hour and continued about 3 hours longer. I experienced a general mood uplift and very slight visual enhancement. I noticed a strange combination of stimulation and relaxation—a desire to lie down and close eyes, but squirm a bit. Bodily sensations were somewhat enhanced. Overall, experience was just above threshold, a (+), but effects were promising.

Two days later, 1 full 1 mg blotter was administered sublingually, avoiding holding saliva. First alert at T+0:23: visual shimmering. Anxiety ramped up rapidly and unpleasantly for about 30 minutes. I was driven to pace around and spent time putting away laundry to spend this energy. Anxiety subsided by about T+1:00 and effects reached a (++). Visuals were unmistakable but generally mild: shimmering, shifting, blooming, mild colour enhancement—they were more or less like a low dose of LSD. Mood was very enhanced with a sense of well-being, contentment, and affection. I watched Sherlock and the show was occasionally confusing, as if I were mildly drunk, but otherwise the headspace was very clear. A neighbour stopped by and I had no trouble whatsoever chatting. Bodily sensations were enhanced and pleasant. Cuddling was very nice.

My general impression was that visual effects were vaguely LSD-like, but without any psychedelic headspace. I found 25c-NBOH to be very pleasant and easy to handle, and it would be suitable for social situations. Effects on the second trial were probably a bit limited due to lingering tolerance. I will be very interested to explore higher doses and combination with 25i-NBOH.
