I ordered some modalert online to help me work longer hours in the entertainment industry. One of the things I had read about Modafinil was that there is no crash like after using most stimulants. What a load of bollocks. There was a significant crash about 4-5 hours after the first 200mg dose. It gave me a little bit of extra focus but dampened all, and I mean all creativity.

I should have taken the crash as a sign and stopped taking it. However, I took another 200mg dose the next day and this is when all hell started. The glands in my neck, especially on the right side, swelled up. I mean really swelled up. A clear sign of the body fighting something very toxic. It wasn't until that evening however, when my whole body started tingling. When I tried to go to bed, the whole room was spinning and anxiety was through the roof. It got so bad that I took myself to the A&E. I was given a small dose of Valium which helped me come down, but unfortunately my hell was only starting.

The modafinil had triggered something in my body and I spiralled down to a severe depression and anxiety accompanied by bad depersonalisation that I'm still trying to recover from almost a year later.

The most toxic, vile substance I have ever taken.
