Preliminary
Setting: My dorm room, roommate gone away for the weekend, all potential disturbances attended to, and freshly tidied. I am alone.
Set: Excellent, if not a little tired. I had not eaten since the previous day.
T-10 – I empty the 110mg bag onto my chemistry textbook (it seems only fitting). There is some powder residue on the inside of the bag. I insert my pinky and lick it off. It tastes dreadful.
T-5 – I divide the contents into 4 roughly evenly sized piles (27.5mg each if you're keeping up at home). I did not do a very good job. The powder leaves a chalky stain on the cover of the book
T-0 – I prepare a parachute of the horribly dosed powder and swallow it. I remove the chalky stains from my textbook with my finger, and lick my finger. It still tastes dreadful.
T+5 – I leave to go eat breakfast at the campus meal hall
T+30 – Ate some food, it started to kick in very fast. Patterns began appearing on my table and across the other tables. I returned to my room. As I write this my vision is shifting and I am tense. The ink seems to grow after I lay it down. Into bed now
T+45 – Definitely kicking in hard. Beautiful patterns behind my eyes and on everything. Everything is kind of melting. Lost in psychedelia.
That was the last log I had put in the logbook before it became a pad for me to write my psychedelic ramblings on (of which you'll be glad I have spared you). At this point I put on my favourite trip-hop playlist and begin to enjoy the music. I found the music had a very strong effect on the trip, at one point a song came on which had a very ominous mood, and I became very cold and started shivering. As soon as I changed the song I was warm and comfortable again. I recall feeling like waves of psychedelic love were piercing me as I stretched and walked around my room. I would curl up under a blanket and watch the beautiful patterns on the ceiling, or watch the waves of my blankets morph around, or simply close my eyes and get lost in the unending sea of fractals. I would sit on my bed, mouth agape, as psychedelia poured out of it.
So my science didn't really work out, as seems to be the nature of the psychedelic experience when it comes to science. Nonetheless, ethocin is a substance I have very intensely enjoyed. It is a very clean, warm, euphoric, and loving experience akin to that of acid or mushrooms. A very “classical” psychedelic feeling. The chemical seems to exert some sort of control over the experience, it seemed as though no thoughts could turn it to a bad trip (and I tried, for science's sake). What remains to be seen is whether or not my attempts to sour the trip were met with reason, or simple overpowerment. The experience lasts about 2 hours at the peak and then gently returns you to baseline with lingering feelings of psychedelic enlightenment. Though very introspective and insightful, I would not call it life-changing.
