I had read up on bk-2C-B. My understanding of it was a new “legal” analogue of 2C-B. One oxygen atom extra and the government can't stop me from tripping. That's drug laws for you! It's being sold on legal high sites here in the UK and to be perfectly honest, I wasn't really interested in it. I have previous experience with real 2C-B and other psychedelics mainly LSD and I have tried Mushrooms and DMT once so I'm not new to the psychedelic experience.

The setting:

My friend had joined a band and our group of friends went to see her play her first gig in our city. After the gig she invited us back to the flat of one of the band members for an after-party. We drove halfway across the city to get there. It was quite a busy party with a lot of drugs going around. MDMA, pills, cocaine and a lot of cannabis. I had taken MDMA powder 2 days prior and I was still feeling depressed from the comedown so I wasn't having any of that, cocaine I'm not interested in. So I was fine just having a few beers and a couple of joints.

The different crowds started mixing and after a while my friend told me that a guy at the party had some “legal high 2C-B shit”. I knew it must have been bk-2C-B so I asked my friend to take me to him as I knew this might be my only ever opportunity to try bk-2C-B as realistically I'm never going to bother buying off a legal high site.

The experience:

When I found the guy I asked him for a bit and he was more than happy to provide some for free. He pulled a baggie out of his pocket filled to the brim with white powder. It was labelled as if it was a research chemical. “Beta-Ketone-2,5-dimethoxy-4-bromophenethylamine, Not for human consumption”.

He tried to convince me to take a bomb of it but I just wanted a small line. I grabbed a tenner and snorted a fat line of psychedelic goodness. I estimate I took 50mg of it which is just below a standard dose (~80mg) I was well aware that you need much more of Bk-2C-B than normal 2C-B which I only usually take about 15mg of.

After a few minutes a sharp pain erupted in the back of my nostril and the pain dripped into the back of my throat. This pain grew exponentially and I began to get a buzzing sensation in my brain. As if a fly or wasp had got inside my head and was flying about. Although this was extremely uncomfortable, it didn't bother me too much as I have experienced this before on 2C-B.

Eventually the buzzing in my head and painful drug in my throat became too much, however. I was coming up fast. Too fast. Upon closing my eyes, bright vibrant colours splattered across my vision. I was becoming overwhelmed so I had to sit outside for a bit. My friend got me some water and sat with me for a bit. I vomited in the garden from the buzzing which caused it to subside and I felt strangely sober. I rejoined the party and was well aware that I was not tripping. Like a firework, my high had plateaued extremely quickly and fizzled into sobriety. I chilled out for a bit smoked some weed, bought a random ecstasy tablet (which I did not take) and had a laugh at some maniac who was out of his face on MDMA dancing like he was in an Ibiza super club. At this point I presented myself with a dichotomy: Either accept that Bk-2C-B was shit and just leave it or ask for another bomb. Stupidly, I went with the latter.

The guy was more than happy to provide more as he had bought 1g of the stuff for £15. I even tried to offer him money which he refused. This time I'd learnt my lesson and I dumped a large portion of the powder (~100mg) into a cigarette paper and swallowed the bomb.

I felt nothing. I waited an hour. I still felt nothing. “Ah well, at least I didn't pay.” I thought to myself. My friends and I decided to hit the boost and we went to get pizza and jumped in a taxi home. By the the time I got into my bed it was about 4am, about an hour and a half since I'd taken the bomb. I drifted off to sleep.

Suddenly I found myself awake in my room. A feeling of terror shrouded me. I thought there were people in my room talking, I started sweating uncontrollably and my vision was shaking to the point where focusing on anything was impossible. Celtic cross fractals engulfed my vision and I felt the strangest sensation as if I was becoming separated from my own head. Eventually I realised that this shit had kicked in which made the trip more bearable. I was able to grasp control of myself and drink some water to calm me down. I'm not sure how long this went on for, my ability to contemplate time disappeared although it was bright by the time I drifted off to sleep.

I awoke the next day feeling exhausted. I had slept maybe 3-4 hours. Thankfully I wasn't working the next day so I was able to get a can of coca-cola and a joint to help me recover.

My conclusion about this substance is that it's nothing special. It's not too different from regular 2C-B apart from duration (Normal: 3-4 hours, Bk: 8 -10 hours). I guarantee it'll be banned in the next year or so and I'm not too fussed. I'll just stick to regular 2C-B. Maybe next year I'll be writing a report on Bk-2C-E, if there is such a thing!
