oral | Heimia myrtifolia | (tea) |
BODY WEIGHT: | 62 kg |
I drank the tea - it didn't taste as bad as others had led me to believe it would - and waited. And waited. Effects were nowhere near close to immediate but when they came, about 2 hours later, they were catastrophic.
My entire body ached, head to toe. Muscles I did not know I could FEEL in my face hurt. I couldn't get comfortable for how much my legs ached, like I'd run 20 km after no exercise for a month. I could barely move. I cried getting to my bathroom because my calf muscles hurt so badly. Walking was impossible. Lying down was impossible. Sitting was impossible.
I had shortened breath that came in strange heaves - my breath became intensely shallow, and when I tried to breathe deeper, it felt like there was an obstruction in my lungs. Trying to breathe too deeply caused unpleasant nauseous head rushes, but I was barely getting enough oxygen - and my heart was palpitating, making it worse.
My throat was so sore I could barely swallow water.
My throat was so sore I could barely swallow water.
I was barely able to think a rational thought and sincerely wondered if I should go to the ER, as the pain was so intense.
I experienced hot and cold flushes, often at the same time - my head would become so hot I'd almost faint, while my body would experience chills that caused me to shiver, leading to more pain.
The promised 'auditory hallucinations' I was so looking forward to were a huge let down given the 'sacrifice' I made of my physical comfort. Open your media player, watch a video at 0.75x - that's your 'hallucinations'. It sounded like my earphones and speakers were broken. Music sounded robotic and lost all flavor and depth. I couldn't understand people talking at all - it became a bland static of ambiguous vowels.
After 6 - 7 hellish hours, I finally came around and could fall asleep. My body felt like I had been ill with a massive head cold for days, and indeed most of my symptoms were similar to that.
The next day I woke up, with less pain in my muscles but could not exert myself the way I usually can. Walking 2 km was intensely difficult and required breaks. I completely lost my appetite but when I finally ate, my heart pounded throughout and I thought I was going to vomit.
There was no yellow haze at any point as mentioned in other experiences, although that seems to be mainly a smoking thing.
As an aside, drinking it as a tea seems to make my urine incredibly pungent for at least a day afterwards.
