I acquired about 20 Lyrica (pregabalin) capsules with expiry date of 07/2014. Now it's 09/2014. I have had positive experiences with expired drugs before, so I decided to take some.

Not knowing what to expect from Lyrica, I looked up a few experience reports and random forum posts. I read that you can get CEVs (closed eye visuals), which is something that interests me quite a bit. I also read reports of tremors and bad experiences, but I decided to partake anyway.

This report is based on a piece of paper I used as a log and on my memories.

I was alone in my room. I was pretty calm. The only light in the room was a small LED lamp a few meters away. It was a bit dark, but I could see everything. Perfect lighting for drugs in my opinion.

The summary of the experience and my thoughts about Lyrica are at the end.

I had slept 3 hours the night before, but didn't feel tired.

T - ~2h (19:06)
I ate for about 2 hours before taking it. I didn't eat until about T + ~14h.

T - ~1h (20:06)
I had a beer (500 ml with 5% alcohol) about an hour before taking Lyrica. I wasn't drunk at all.

T + 0 (21:06)
I took 4 150 mg (= 600 mg) capsules orally with water without opening the capsules. I decided not to eat before the effects start.

T + 33m (21:39)
Lyrica hasn't kicked in yet.

T + 40m (21:46)
I took another 150 mg capsule.

T + 48m (21:54)
Minor body high - a pleasant heavy feeling.

T + 51m (21:57)
Mild sedation.

T + 56m (22:02)
No loss of coordination yet.

T + 1h 14m (22:20) to T + 1h 54m (23:00)
A friend called me not knowing I was high (I told him about 2 minutes into the conversation). We talked about computers, ergonomic keyboards and other related topics. About 30m into the conversation I wanted to just lie down with some music and try to get CEVs. After the conversation (40m) I thought it might have killed the effects. I wrote 'buzz kill' in the log.

T + 1h 55m (23:01)
I played some Jean Michel Jarre and closed my eyes. I wrote in the log 'CEVs with music', but at first the hallucinations weren't really visual. Obviously I can't describe them very well, because they're subjective experiences, but I'll try. I felt lines flashing in my head at different angles, but didn't really see them. They were interesting, not unpleasant at all. Then I felt waves corresponding to the music. Lines and waves - I can't describe it better.

Then I lay down in my bed and closed my eyes. I played 'Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells 2003'. A few minutes later I started getting real CEVs. I knew I was high all along and Lyrica didn't lower my mental capacity. Of course I could be wrong, but I think I'm not - while hallucinating I was able to control the visuals and, more importantly, I always thought about the fact that I'm hallucinating and the goals I have with hallucinations.

The hallucinations were glitchy - for example I would see a small old house for a few seconds and then the house instantly breaks down, then instantly adds or removes parts of it. Another example is a dusty basement or attic with objects like a red fire truck toy, chairs and boxes. A small vortex-like hole in the floor appeared. It sucked in the fire truck toy, chairs and some some human. Every change (the vortex appearing, the objects being sucked in) appeared instantly, but the movement was fluid. So the glitchiness of the CEVs was only about the changes of scenes, but not the actual scenes themselves.

T + 2h 9m (23:15)
I got up and started the album from the beginning so I could hallucinate longer without having the change the music.
The CEVs got more detailed and controllable. I was flying and I thought 'I want to summon a tunnel.' and next thing I see is a tunnel I'm flying through. I was flying above a red rocky place, similar to the Grand Canyon. I thought 'I want ants to start filling the ground' and a few seconds later there was a dark gray object crawling the ground, coming from behind me. The object was a colony of ants all over the ground.
Nothing about the CEVs was scary or unpleasant.

T + 2h 58m (00:04)
The album ended. I don't know when I fell asleep - maybe I had more CEVs without music. I'm sure I listened to the whole album, because I played it again after I woke up and I remember all the songs.

T + 12h 14m (09:20)
I woke up with a heavy body high. I called a friend to tell him about the experience. Before getting up I started moving my body parts one by one to make sure I won't fall down - I've read about coordination loss with Lyrica. I finally got up and started walking. It felt both light and heavy at the same time.

T + 12h 34m (9:40)
I started writing the report. I haven't eaten for about 14 hours. I feel kind of hungry, but not that much.

T + 12h 50m (9:56)
I wanted to see if I could get CEVs while lying down again. I played 'Ronald Jenkees - Disorganized fun', but couldn't get CEVs, even though the music sounded better than while sober. Then I tried with the album I listened to before - 'Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells 2003'. Still no CEVs. After 10 minutes of trying, I accepted the fact that Lyrica is wearing off.

T + 13h 40m (10:36)
I was writing the experience report and the only effect I could still feel was a body high that was slowly fading. My sight was slightly blurry, but I could easily read from the monitor. I opened the window to smoke and tried to focus on a person about 100 meters from me. I focus on her, but I had diplopia (double vision)

The hallucinations were akin to lucid dreaming. I've hallucinated a few times in my life. The second time I tried marijuana I had to lie down and started hallucinating, but without the ability to control the visuals. The CEVs also had meaning (about consciousness, etc.) to me, while the Lyrica ones didn't. On shrooms I had open eye visuals which were, most of time, related to my surrounding. But I still knew I was hallucinating. The few visuals unrelated to my surrounding were similar in appearance, but I couldn't control them.

Overall the experience was very pleasant. Contrary to what I read, it doesn't feel like benzos (I've tried 4-5 different benzos) or alcohol. No loss of coordination, despite the heavy body high. No euphoria or change in libido. No memory loss or cognitive impairments. Pleasant comedown.

I think Lyrica (pregabalin) is a perfect drug for realistic, but glitchy visuals which one can control - similar to lucid dreaming. I will definitely do it again.

TL;DR - I took 750 mg Lyrica (pregabalin), lay down with some music and hallucinated different things I could control.
