Brief background underscoring intent. I'm a regular guy who enjoys exploring the diversity of conscious experiences. And I've had some marvelous ones, ranging from meditative to lucid dreaming (marking some of the most incredible experiences I've ever had) to mind-altering substances both legal and otherwise. While being adventurous, historically, I also value my baseline mental/physical health and have experienced the down side of trying to indulge in altered/induced states too frequently. Withdrawals from certain addicting medications/supplements...hell, even coffee...are very unpleasant and I prefer to avoid them when possible. Thus, I moderate. I partake only occasionally to avoid significant neural net modification which is the source of dependency.

All this being said, I've enjoyed the leisurely pursuit of totally legal mood enhancing supplements. After my lengthy search and experimentation, I've currently settled on a blend of supplements that is truly potent, long lasting and exquisitely euphoric with little downside other than some mild fuzzy-ness or light headache the following day. The blend includes kratom....a plant with alkaloids which bind to mu-opiod receptors with resulting dopaminergic action; phenibut....a GABA agonist; and aldrafinil...a supplement which acts on a syncytium of neural receptors resulting in overall 'wakefulness' without any peripheral side effects typically experienced with stimulants such as caffeine or amphetamines. All these supplements are perfectly legal where I live (I think kratom is now outlawed in a couple of states) and easily obtained by multiple vendors online. Here's today's experience, documenting the doses and the 'plot line' of the effects.

7:45 a.m. Feeling a little muzzy after a couple nights of insomnia recently. Mild headache upon awakening, but overall feeling well...healthy. To front-load my dopamine stores availability, I took 2 capsule of Velvet Bean, or Dopa Bean...which contains L-dopa, a precursor of dopamine.

Just blended 2.5 g premium Indo and 2.5 g Maeng Da kratom with 1.5 g phenibut and 400 mg aldrafinil with a smoothie/shake mix. Added stevia to cut the bitterness of the aldrafinil/phenibut and the unpleasant taste of the kratom, which I've never gotten used to :)

8:15 Quite quickly, I'm feeling a nice, smooth, crystal clear elevation in mood. A strong lift of mental clarity, coming from the aldrafinil, with the signature warmth and euphoric joy of the phenibut/kratom blend. I feel cognitively intact...not 'intoxicated' in comparison to taking a prescription opiate or to drinking too much alcohol. This feels distinctly different....far more refined, leaving mental acuity grounded.

9:15 Euphoria climbing steadily...strong, yet still grounded. I've been enjoying some intense multiplayer FPS gaming, which requires accuracy and tactical aptitude....none of which has suffered in the bloom of the cresting sensations. My skills feel sharpened amidst a blissful ambient bath of well-being. The overall sensations are a well-balanced confluence of euphoria, enhanced and clarified attention, and this interesting, almost abstract friendliness that seems omni-directional...i.e. not focused on anything in particular.

11:00 Still awash in a clear, smooth wave of bliss and mental precision...all of it making gaming a pure joy. The peak of the crest has moved by, to some degree, with a tapering off of that euphoric acceleration I was experiencing about 1.5 hours ago. I'm going to ante up with another 1 g phenibut and 1.5 g Maeng Da/1.5 g Indo kratom mixture, blended with vanilla yogurt. Again...the taste. This is to see if I can cultivate another gentle crest which will hopefully add to the overall sustain. Will report back soon....switching from FPS thrills to the epic adventure of open-world action RPG. Open world gaming goes well with empathogen-enactogenic euphoriants, I've found :)

11:30 Another blissful surge emerging, so quickly! This swell seems to have some real energy behind it and may surpass the initial surge, I'm pleasantly surprised to say. No sign of nausea, which seems to be the intrinsic self limiting nature of kratom. Take too much and nausea/vomiting is the price paid. I'll try to restrain myself and wait a couple hours before the next report

1:00 p.m. The most recent surge has leveled off, but showing no signs of diminishing. Probably has something to do with the layered effect of differing onset of each supplement....kratom onsetting within 30 min.s or so...aldrafinil, within 1-1.5 hrs given the fact that it has to be metabolized before it becomes active....and phenibut within 1.5-2 hrs, given its notoriously insidious/progressive onset.

2:30 p.m. Just a delightful day. Very subtle, gradual decline from the peak about 1.5 hours ago...but still feeling like a million bucks. It's just a marvel that this potent of a sensation of heavenly neurotransmission is possible and completely legal. I feel very grateful. I know that these experiences must be kept contained and relatively infrequent, as to not lose my stores of those endogenous neurotransmitters. I'm looking forward to the day when neuroscience devises a way of preserving baseline states without down-regulation. Until then...careful moderation is the way to go to ensure these wonderful states can be repeated. I'll write once more, perhaps, in a couple of hours to document the further descent back to earth :)

5:00 p.m. and still in a distinctly blissful, peaceful, energized state, though the intensity is waning. As mentioned, it's been a nice, gently sloping decline which has lasted for hours. Superb in comparison to the harsh/jarring come down from strong stimulants like cocaine or methamphetamine. X is less 'rude', but still manifests a steeper down-slope than this blend. It feels like a mother who is gently lowering a baby into its crib, slowly so as not to wake it up. It feels like a kind withdrawal, so to speak.

I'll wrap it up. Given historical experience with this blend, the gentle decline will go on for another 2-3 hours, bringing me back to baseline, more or less, after 10-12 hours. Although I've avoid driving or otherwise doing things which might be dangerous, there's never been a moment when I felt out of control or unable to function with clarity or coordination. Regardless, I do not partake on days I need to work or am interacting in any significant way with my family. I save them for my days off, when I'm home alone...wife at work and kids at school. It leaves me the time and space to fully explore the experience on a personal level.

An entirely legal euphoric experience. My hope is that people use these potent supplements wisely, to avoid drawing the unnecessary attention of the cagey aspect of social protective elements/authorities which seek to outlaw things that are perceived as disruptive. Hopefully, these gifts will remain available to anyone who can use them responsibly.
