I've been using phenibut for about 3 months now. After a lifetime of jumping around antidepressants, antipsychotics and benzos, this non prescription drug has literally been a life saver. The only down side is not being able to take it every day without serious consequences which I can't stress enough.

For the past 3 months (after about a week of dose trials), I've taken approx. 3G every 3rd day. That's take one day, skip 2 and repeat. Sometimes more recreationally. A basic dose chart for me would look something like this:
Threshold-500mg-1g.
Light-1g-1.5g.
Medium-1.5g-2.5g.
Heavy-2.5g-3g+.

The effects are drastically different after the 2G mark.
Personally, this is how I dose: 2G in the morning to get started. 0.5G later in the day and another 0.5G before bedtime. I've done this for months now with the same level of effect each time (no tolerance). I have a history of benzos so I don't get anything close to what I need until I hit the 2G mark. The phebit doesn't work for anxiety/panic attacks because it takes a good 3 hours to take full effect.

After about 1 hour I can start to notice the threshold. (Something feels different.) After about 2 hours, I notice a drastic reduction in anxiety and stress levels. Thoughts become more organized and all those painful, racing thoughts just fade away (my favorite part). At around 3 hours I usually have the full blown effects.
Increased body temp
Slight balance impairment.
Minor zoning.
Plenty of energy.
General fuzzy feeling.
Reduced anxiety.
Less aware of rapid/hard beating heart.

These are somewhat comparable to alcohol but also very unique. It is nowhere near as debilitating as alcohol but it is like slick50 for social interaction :) My pupils are usually massive at this point.

This feeling will pretty much ride with me the whole day. Once I'm past the 2G mark, a small 0.5G addition can give a very substantial boost to the effects.

When it's all said and done, it's about 36Hrs from onset to complete sobriety. Benzos are not needed with this is in my system. Also, I like to keep some ibuprofen handy for the following day as I usually get a pretty bad headache. There's 2 different versions available. To the best of my knowledge, the F.A.A. version is bitter and the HCL is very sour. I prefer sour over bitter. Also, it's not good to mix with highly acidic juices like apple juice. It noticeably diminishes the effects.

There's so much more I could say about this fantastic and legal drug, I would be writing for days. I feel I've covered the most important things though. All in all, this has been a godsend for me, being a lifelong sufferer of anxiety, depression, and insomnia. No more nasty side effects of prescription drugs.
