This is a retrospective report on a single physical facet of my 2C experiences that I've noticed to be common to all the 2C psychedelics that I've tried: I get a very particular sort of cough under their influence.

I have a life-long cough, which I remember goes back at least as far as some severe coughing fits when I was 11 or 12. The cough is now something that comes and goes in waves, and seems to be going more often than it's coming in recent years (I suspect that improved air quality where I live is a major factor). When I'm in a period where I'd normally cough, I tend to experience my usual cough in addition to my 2C cough, which is why I believe that the 2C cough is a different cough, rather than simply a different perception of the same cough.

My usual cough feels like it's scratching an itch down in the lower parts of my throat, and is unambiguously a dry cough. In contrast, the 2C cough feels like a hollow cough, coming from my lungs rather than my throat. It also feels more like how productive coughs feel, though it is also dry rather than productive. If my lung capacity felt in any way reduced, I'd say it feels like a cough that's trying to clear out some pneumonia, but my unreduced lung capacity, and the lack of expectorated material both seem to indicate that there's no pneumonia.

I generally take doses of 2Cs that lie somewhere on the threshold between a common dose and a heavy dose, as I rather like that level of experience, so there are the doses at which I tend to notice this cough. This pattern has been observed with some consistency over the past 6 years, and I'm just writing the report now because I recently had an opportunity to take some 2C-B for the first time. I was with some new friends, and when they noticed the cough, I explained it off as my 2C cough, and then realized that this phenomenon should probably be documented, in case other people experience something similar.
