My family leaves me home alone for a couple of hours. I went through the medicine cabinet and took some of my moms wellbutrin. She is prescribed it for her depression. I open the bottle, and take two, then putting them in my pocket. I think this specific brand was Zyban, they had a football shape with some black numbers in the middle. The dose was pretty high with 450mg each.

But because I am an idiot, I failed to read on the bottle that they are time released. I take one, and wait a couple for it to kick in. I wasnt feeling anything so I went ahead and took the other one.

I didnt get much effect at this time. When I take wellbutrin I get this sound in my head, its almost like a tv when I dont have channel on it, or when I get hit on the head and the moment right after it. Its pretty faint at this point, but when it gets quiet I can really hear it. This is one side effect that I really hate.

Eventually I just go home and lay in my bed, listening to the weird sound in my head. I fall asleep. (I had a intense dream, I don't know if it was because of the wellbutrin, but I'm sure it didn't help)

All of a sudden I wake up at 4am with a instant nervous energy, the sound in my head was really loud. My mouth was really dry and had a generally bad taste. I felt really dehydrated, so I walk into my kitchen to get some water. No amount of water was helping my dry mouth, and the really unpleasant taste was all I could think about. I go back and lay in my bed for awhile, my body felt exhausted but there was no way I was going to be able to go back to sleep.

This is when things start to get weird. I'm listening to some music and literally just staring at the walls. I felt really nauseous, I was afraid I might throw up in my bed. I stand in the bathroom for awhile. Just thinking about food was making me gag. I couldnt brush my teeth because the toothpaste smell was making me gag. The noise in my head was all I could hear at this point. I sit on my bathroom floor. I got this sad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Paranoia started creeping up on me, I was jumping at the smallest things. I was so easily frightened, which is not normal for me. My dog barked from the other side of the bathroom door, it sounded strangely distorted, but the sudden bark scared me so badly that I physically screamed. I was hearing knocking, and footsteps, the sounds were so vivid that I kept checking if someone was at the door. I was seeing little specks everywhere. The shadows would move around on their own, this didn't help the paranoia. The shadows would move very creepily. I kept seeing someone peek their head out from the shower curtain.

Wellbutrin isn’t very fun. I basically just gave me temporary paranoid schizophrenia.
