Finding some dissatisfaction with most common street drugs I decided to try out some RC's. I found that across the board they weren't nearly as good as the ones they were intended to replace. While the price and legality were ideal (I found a gram of Hexen, for $10 a gram, compared to Coc for $100 a gram), they all had some insurmountable drawback that canceled out their practicability for recreational applications.

I'll go through each and compare them to the drugs they aspire towards.

N-ethyl-hexedrone (or Hexen) is intended to replace cocaine. I found it similar in its initial effect, but that's about all. Redosing was futile-when compared to cocaine- that rush never seemed to come back after the first hour. The high was similar to cocaine just in measured amounts.

While cocaine does cause increased heart rate and blood pressure, it is nothing compared to Hexen. I noticed my heart rate was elevated for days after usage

, the gym was totally off limits. The after effects were typical: sleep disruption, irritability, etc. I discarded what I had left deciding that it wasn't the drug for me.

Methylone (or M1) in intended as a replacement to MDMA. Again the initial effects are similar, the dosages were always about the same. The high was different in that I wasn't reduced to a sweaty ecstatic mess on the floor. The high seemed more energetic. I actually found that combining M1 and MDMA made for an intense, almost exhaustive roll. The drawbacks were that I noticed a severe, severe mental fatigue for days after I rolled (unlike just pure MDMA). I had difficulty focusing, sleeping, answering basic questions, etc. Hitherto, this hadn't been an issue when just doing MDMA. Once more, I discarded the rest and decided to look elsewhere.

4 fluoroamphetamine or (4FA). Another drug intended to replace MDMA. Throughout my research on the drug I recall several times reading that fluorinated amphetamines were all less neurotoxic than their nonfluorinated counterparts. I did not find this to be the case. The roll was similar to MDMA in many respects, excluding intensity. I noticed a very comforting euphoria, sans that unique MDMA magic. I did however find that the attitudes of those of us who used it were somewhat aggressive and confrontational, as opposed to commiserating and understanding. Had it not been for the after effects I might have considered keeping this drug around. I noticed for several days after 2 uses within the time span of a week, that I had a severe and otherwise explainable bout of depression. I found myself looking for sad clips on youtube so I could exercise some strange grief that I hadn't ever encountered before. once more, I took my remaining dosages and tossed them.

In retrospect few of the RCs I tried garnered enough merit to continue their use. They all had some major drawback and their drawbacks weren't worth continuing their use. Final conclusion: all of the good drugs are illegal.
