Midterms were coming up and I had A LOT of english to finish before then, at the pace I had been working at, at least 4 weeks worth, to be finished in a few days. The intention for this “trip” was to get as much done as possible on a sunday afternoon. I went into this with a good night's sleep and a positive mindset. I ended up taking 140mg of Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine) total, over a course of 6 hours, keeping me up till 3:00am. The following is a report of the 15 hours, starting at 12:30 pm, shortly after I woke up.
12:30pm - Took a starting dose of 80mg after eating a few pancakes to see how I felt from double my daily dose (40mg).
1:30pm- Waiting for effects to kick in, I hopped in the shower. Started to feel the first effects. I was suddenly in a very good mood, hopeful, positive and ready to do homework. Racing/pounding heart began, which made I feel anxious, but I controlled this with deep breathing.
2:00pm- Took 20mg more (totalling 100mg). Vision was slightly blurry when looking at far distances, heart beating fast, motivated and positive, slightly anxious.
2:00-4:00pm- Went for a smoke which made my heart race more, but calmed down. I slowly and with precision got ready, taking a long time to do my makeup while watching netflix. Still high heart rate, around 120 beats/min. Very positive and happy. No appetite.
4:00pm-11:00pm- The homework began, I took 20mg more (totalling 120mg). Then at 6:00pm I took the final 20mg for a grand total of 140mg.
Now explaining the next 8 hours would be boring considering it consisted of doing only assignments, so I will explain how I felt. With most ADHD stimulants, I had heard people say it feels like speed or cocaine, but with vyvanse, I didn't feel like I needed to get as much done as possible, but quality work. All the homework I did was done with a great amount of thought and effort put in, all my focus was channeled into making it as good as I could. For 8 hours I did not get up once to use the bathroom or anything, didn't check my phone, and only listened to classical music playlists.
11:30pm- I started to feel the comedown, less motivated, heart still beating pretty fast, no appetite, not sleepy at all. Went out for a smoke, which gave me a good head buzz. I continued to work away at homework until 1:30.
1:30am- Motivation was almost dead, and I could not work any longer, I wanted sleep but knew that wouldn't come for awhile. I popped 2.5mg of Ativan (lorazepam) and 2 melatonin in hopes it would induce some sleep.
2:30am- I layed in bed awake, the ativan did nothing so I popped 1mg under my tongue. (I has high tolerance to ativan)
3:00am- Sometime around 3 I fell asleep and woke up at 8am for school the next morning, feeling not as horrible as I thought.
To sum up my experience, it was quite enjoyable, and I got very good marks on the assignments completed. The next day I didn't feel a bad comedown, or tired at all. When doing the homework, I felt so engrossed in everything I did, and all focus was centered on it. Would do again.
