400 mg | oral | Synaptolepis kirkii | (tea) |
BODY WEIGHT: | 70 kg |
After scouring multiple websites, I found that most people agreed that 300mg would be an appropriate first-time dose. I decided to begin with 400mg as a few people had mentioned 300mg wasn't enough to induce a lucid dream for them.
As the herb arrived in the form of a white powder, I decided to take it as a tea. I began by measuring out 400mg of powder and adding it to a mugful of boiling water. I let it infuse for around five minutes before straining the tea and giving it one final stir. As per the instructions others had given, I drank the tea an hour before I went to sleep as this seemed to be the average timing agreed upon for best results. After drinking the tea, I decided to meditate before going to sleep in the hope that a calm mind would also help lucid dreaming to occur as I have found it a useful method in the past. I fell asleep at around 11pm.
Although I don't remember drifting off into sleep or how my dreams first began, I woke up the next morning able to recall the majority of the lucid dream I had experienced. The first part of the dream I can remember was an immensely lifelike view of a lake surrounded by mountains in front of me, the best way to describe it would be to compare it to looking at a 4k image, it was so incredibly real, something which set this particular dream apart from the other lucid dreams I've had. As I took in the view in front of me, I decided I wanted to fly over these mountains and explore the world around me. I can recall feeling the gentle rush of wind hit my body as I flew and seeing each individual wave of the lake below me as if I was truly flying over it. After what felt like thirty minutes or so, the scene around me began to fade to black and I became aware that I was flying towards a portal that appeared to be made of multicolored water droplets. As I gradually flew closer to the portal, the water droplets began to swirl around me like a whirlpool and I felt as though I was dissolving into a tunnel of liquid pleasure.
Around 10 minutes later, this water tunnel transformed into a strange, inescapable maze that completely encompassed me. The previous feeling of pleasure was replaced with feelings of fear and confusion as I remained in this maze for what felt like an hour with no obvious way out. This was the last memory I had of the dream before waking up at around 10:30am. It's worth noting that once I had woken up I felt immensely relaxed, like the very opposite of a comedown, the herb definitely had a positive effect on my body, possibly due to the fact it induced a deeper state of sleep for a long period of time.
I believe this dream herb is a great 'hack' for lucid dreaming, with very little preparation I was able to dream lucidly for an extended period of time. I intend on trying different doses to see if it makes any noticeable difference to the quality or length of the dreams. I will also try taking it with the aid of other methods that induce lucid dreaming, such as listening to low Hz theta wave frequencies, in case these help to change the intensity of the dreams.
