When I friend that I hadn't seen in ages asked if I wanted to hang out, I figured we'd have a nice afternoon just chilling and catching up. I'd had two light beers just before meeting with him. He took me over to a roomy, friendly squat full of cushy sofas and cute doggos.

We drank some rum and talked for a while, with good vibes. He cut three lines of speed and offered me one. I was scared, having no experience with uppers (just with downers and psychedelics). But my friend assured me that it wouldn't interact badly with the alcohol, so I figured I'd be alright.

I immediately felt a bit more focused, a bit less stressed and more optimistic. I'm a very high-strung person and I usually find it difficult to relax. Speed made it easier. We continued swigging rum and smoking tobacco and marijuana (which I'm usually very sensitive to) with no ill effects. He offered me a second line after about forty-five minutes, which I also accepted.

After a while, we went over to a dealer's house to buy some more goodies, and we hung out there for a couple of hours drinking wine and smoking marijuana with fruit-flavoured tobacco mixed in. I hadn't been in such a relaxed hippie atmosphere for a long time, and I basically melted into the couch with nice fuzzy feelings. Good psytrance and good conversation helped. It was a proper Withnail & I scene, but without any negative vibes. I did notice that my friend was doing more drugs than I personally felt comfortable with, and that he was snorting speed directly from the little jar it came in, which was my cue to set my boundaries and refuse a third offer.

After I said goodbye, I ran into another friend I hadn't seen in ages, and had a very nice and coherent conversation with her.

I made it home just after midnight. What followed was one of the longest and most relaxed nights of my life. I didn't manage to sleep, but somehow I didn't mind at all — I just spent the hours happily snoozing, thinking about myself, my future, my sexuality, my work, and about other ways (not involving drugs) to just relax more. I realised some sexual things that I would very much like to try, and after and absolutely inspired masturbation session just when the sun started to come up, I realised I could easily make those things happen. I felt active and able to instantly transform plans into actions.

There was very little crash afterwards, just a mild headache and some sleep deprivation. All in all, a wonderful experience.
