My short background: I've consumed kratom in the past with little to no effect. I've had marijuana edibles (my best experience so far), smoked marijuana a few times (usually with no effect), and drank alcohol. I have a fair tolerance to alcohol.
I had ordered a 50:1 extract of Nymphaea Caerulea, as well as dried flower from another source. The flower hadn't arrived yet, though, so this was to be my first delve!
I alone was trying it, though my girlfriend, her brother, and her father's girlfriend were present at the time. I had had an easy day at work, and felt as relaxed as I normally do. I had done my homework and knew that combining Nymphaea Caerulea with wine (or alcohol in general) was the best way to consume it, so I started by pouring a glass for myself (a sweet sangria, 9% ABV).
T+0:00 - On an empty stomach, I drank about 2 oz. of sangria, then put 1 oz. in a shot glass along with 1/4 tsp. (~1g) of the 50:1 blue lotus extract. I was expecting it to be gritty and disgusting like my previous experience with kratom, but the dark brown powder was surprisingly smooth and only lightly bitter. After drinking the shot glass concoction, I drank another 5 oz. of sangria over the course of 20 or so minutes.
T+1:30 - I had been cooking dinner for the household, but felt no effects from the wine nor the extract. Not feeling the wine is usual for me due to my tolerance, but I was hoping to feel some of the effects from the extract. I decided to down another 1/4 tsp. of the extract, as well as 10 oz. more of sangria. I finished cooking and sat down, and noted it felt nice, despite the short length of time I'd spent on my feet.
T+2:00 - After eating dinner (chicken and veggies), I was sitting at the computer desk and socializing. My girlfriend was telling me about a makeup product she had ordered, and I felt an irresistible urge to smile and briefly giggled.
I felt an irresistible urge to smile and briefly giggled.
Unfortunately, that seemed to be the last of the effects I felt. I continued to drink some more wine, and felt slightly tipsy, but that was about it.
T+4:30 - Because I had woken up earlier than usual that morning, I decided to get some sleep. I normally fall asleep within 10-15 minutes, but that night it was difficult. I felt like there was too much random activity in my brain that I couldn't quiet down, which is typical when I've had too much to drink. I wasn't so drunk that I just pass out instantly, which would've been nice, but felt more than tipsy once I had lied down. Once I did fall asleep, I woke up half a dozen times and had strange dreams. One dream of where my favorite cat had died, and I was just bawling uncontrollably in my dream. It felt very real. I felt my stomach tighten as I knelt and cried loudly before waking up, tossing a bit, and going back to sleep.
The next morning, about 10 hours later, I awoke to a light hangover headache. I didn't drink as much water as I should have, nor replenished my electrolytes, so this was understandable.
That's about it! I'm not sure if the 50:1 extract is really 50:1, or if maybe because of its nature as an extract I had not experienced the full effects, or if I just have a tolerance to such things. I still have about 3g left of the extract, of which I'll likely try 2g all at once.
So in summary, the blue lotus concentrated extract made a very modest impact while I was awake, possibly interfered with my sleep, and probably affected my dreams (I normally don't have intense dreams). Hoping that later experiences will prove more noteworthy.
