We meet on the train and walk to the park, stopping at a Rite-Aid, Dunkin Donuts, and a convenience store for various items such as whippets in case we want a breakthrough. Friend leads me to the woods, we sit down on a rock and take 20mg each around 4. I was geeking out about tryptamines as we were walking, explaining why I found this compound so interesting. I ramble about Shulgin for a bit. A family passes us, wondering if it was bad that they parked in someone's driveway. We both laugh after they leave. We talk about things on that rock for a while, waiting for it to kick in. I find a large stick that is interesting. It's covered in thorns, vines, and criss-crossing fragments of briars. An effect is definitely felt.
We laugh and talk more before walking out to the rocks. It is absolutely beautiful. Color is so much more than before. We walk to a stone bench and sit down in front of it. Friend tells me to close my eyes so I can see the things. The things for me are fractals against my eyelids. They're the Julia set, but very soft and wavy. We are both very happy and talking a lot. The ocean has become more wavy than ever before. The rocks are repeating symmetrically when I look at them, my balance is impaired. I follow my friend as she wants a more secluded place away from people. I agree. We go down the rocks near the edge. Everything is more round. Clouds swirl overhead. This is very calm, very smooth, unlike acid almost entirely. A wave of genuine euphoria comes over me like nothing ever has, but is almost overwhelming. The sky and the ocean are blending together at the horizon. A subtle orange haze unites them. I've literally never felt so happy.
I've literally never felt so happy.
We move again because my friend wants to do nitrous. She gets very close to the edge of the rocks. I don't want her to fall. I explain that I am uncomfortable and that it would be safer higher up, further from the edge. She agrees and comes near where I am in a crevice. We never end up doing the nitrous. The experience peaks at that time. Everything feels wonderful, psychedelic body high happens. Touching the rocks feels great. The rocks are friends, the grass is a friend, the crickets chirping are friends. We talk of suburbia, drugs, emotions, and more. Very goofy atmosphere. When I look at myself, I become dysphoric slightly. Less than acid, but my body always feels foreign on psychedelics. We sit for hours and just let time pass.
Around 9 we get up because I'm cold and my friend wants her sweatshirt. As we climb back up, my legs start to hurt. They have shooting pains. My body is old. We walk around for a while. The peak has ended but the comedown is nice. In trying to head to a beach, we sit and eat for a while. Food is better on this than acid by far. The trees are blending together in geometric patterns, fireworks go off in the distance. Everything is bright but calm. Is this what being relaxed is? After we eat, we keep walking through side streets, looking for the beach. Suburbia feels so disconnected from us right now. Everyone in each house we pass could be doing something right now and yet, they don't. We find the beach and continue to talk of the internet and how the world changed. The stars link together in the night sky, lines connecting them like constellation diagrams. Something is peaceful for once and I am content in my existence.
Around midnight, I want to go home but we still hang for another hour before the Uber shows up. Driver is loud. Too loud. We sit downstairs in my house covered in blankets until friend's Lyft arrives. I wave and fall asleep. A wonderful, calm time. Would do again 100%. An excellent set, setting, and compound.
