I used to order drugs online, but after a police visit due to a package that was caught, I didn't wanna risk it anymore. But there was another way to get 2C-B. A chemical supply company had 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde in stock, the precursor to all 2C-X and DOX drugs. I ordered 100g and with a small amount of nitromethane I distilled from model car fuel and a little methylamine I managed to make some impure 2,5-dimethoxy-beta-nitrostyrene. I reduced this with sodium borohydride and copper sulfate to get about 1g of 2C-H, which was an amazing 5% yield. I reacted that with bromine and after workup ended up with about 800mg 2C-B HCl.

The same evening I finished making it, I proceeded to weigh out 12mg and snorted it. Within 5 to 10 minutes I felt psychedelic effects, I was super excited that I succeeded and didn't end up with some random inactive crap, I texted my friend that it worked, which also amazed him. The effects intensified a lot within the next 20 minutes and I got a horrible burning sensation in my nose that stayed for about 10 minutes. I got intense visuals and my body felt heavy and spacious, but I felt very calm. Even though my dad knocked on my door during the come up I was relaxed and managed to talk with him without him noticing I was on something. After 40 minutes to an hour I peaked, at that point I hardly felt like a human anymore, just a conscious entity.

I listened to music while enjoying the intense and beautiful visuals. Besides the burn in my nose it felt pretty good, I didn't even experience any nausea. The body feeling was quite intense and interesting, but not at all unpleasant. 40 minutes to an hour later (about 1.5 hours after dosing) the effects got less and decreased in intensity over the next 2 to 3 hours. Maybe 4 hours after dosing I went downstairs to the kitchen to get something to eat. My parents were there, but it was very easy to look sober and I wasn't worried at all about anyone noticing, it even was kinda fun and exciting.

Later I managed to make another few hundred mg of 2C-B, to make sure it was the right thing I took an oral dose of 20mg from that batch. After 40 minutes to an hour I started to feel the psychedelic effects coming on. It increased over the next hour, but it wasn't as intense as the 12mg snorted. I was pretty sure it was because 2C-B is orally much weaker and that my product was fine. Later on I tried higher doses, I would start with 20mg orally and then after an hour I took another 10mg and maybe an hour later about 10mg more, bringing me to at least 40mg in total. This was pretty strong, but still not as strong as the 12mg snorted, and it didn't matter which batch I tried. I got my 2C-B tested in a lab later on and found out that it was 95% pure.

Over the next few weeks I burned through most of the 100g 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde with multiple attempts at making the nitrostyrene, mostly getting some impure product and a few times just ending up with tar. I consistently got yields of 5% with the reduction to 2C-H and managed to accumulate about 2g of 2C-B HCl. I ordered another 250g of the benzaldehyde. I also had to distill more nitromethane, but they banned fuels with more then 15%. It was impossible to distill pure nitromethane from the 15% fuel, so I distilled everything, resulting in a solution of 15 to 18% nitromethane in methanol. I tried using this solution with ethylamine which failed. Then I got a tip from another chemist to use the acetate salt of the amine and not freebase amine. I did that with the 15% solution and the next day the reaction mix was completely full with carrot orange crystals, I filtered and washed them with ethanol and got an 85% yield. Other chemists also told me that the nitrostyrene has to be very pure to get good yields. So I recrystallized it once and got beautiful orange glittering crystals which gave me a 20% yield when reducing it, after a second recrystallisation the yield went up to over 60%. I managed to make 5g more 2C-B HCl without burning through all of my benzaldehyde. I usually precipitated the HCl salt with HCl dissolved in ether, but ether wasn't available at that time so I did it with dichloromethane instead. Interestingly this resulted in the 2C-B being snow white instead of slightly gray. Also when I let the dichloromethane filtrate evapourate a bit more 2C-B HCl crystallized out, so it has to be slightly soluble in dichloromethane which is very surprising.

Since I had a lot of 2C-B to experiment now, I wanted to see if I could get the effects I got with snorting, because I didn't wanna snort 2C-B ever again. I turned some into the fumarate salt and snorted 10mg of that which burned just as bad as the HCl salt. I also tried it rectally by dissolving the 2C-B in water and taking it using a syringe. It also burned and the effects were pretty much the same as when I took it orally. I took 30mg that way before I decided to just take some more orally. In total I took about 45mg of 2C-B that time which was a pretty great trip. Sometimes I also talked with my girlfriend while on 2C-B, I was always able to act very normal, even on 30 to 40mg.

One thing I didn't get from 2C-B is the increased sexual desire, I didn't really find it better on 2C-B, it actually made it feel a bit weird and awkward and I would rather do something else while tripping. I also still hadn't experienced the nausea that people usually have on 2C-B. Often times I even got hungry while tripping and made something to eat. Unlike with most other psychedelics, doing everyday tasks like making food was no problem on 2C-B, on LSD and psilocin or its analogs stuff like this would be very challenging and confusing.

At some point I wanted to see what happens if 2C-B is heated, so I put a few crumbs on some aluminium foil and held a flame under it, which caused the 2C-B to vaporize, leaving almost nothing behind. That made me curious, I weight out two 10mg doses and put one onto some aluminium foil. I heated it with a flame and inhaled the smoke with a paper straw, the smoke wasn't irritating at all. Within seconds I felt it and over the next half minute the effects rapidly intensified. It got so strong, I got scared and exhaled to avoid absorbing more. Everything started to vibrate, my heart was racing, crazy geometric patterns started crawling over every surface and my body felt like it was floating together with my whole bedroom. Text on my screen started glowing intensely, as if the rays of god where shining through them. I thought that I fucked up and that it was too strong to handle, but after a minute I managed to calm down and actually enjoy it. It felt way stronger then even 45mg orally, obviously I decided to not smoke the other 10mg dose. I just felt like this entity experiencing everything forever, with no purpose or goal, everything was just existing.

After an hour the effects got less intense and wore off over the next 3 hours, so pretty much like a regular 2C-B trip without the come up. This was the best 2C-B experience I had so far, and I was actually quite surprised that barely anyone tried smoking it before, or at least documented it online. The 2C-B molecule is somewhat similar to methamphetamine which can easily be smoked as the HCl salt. 2C-B is also a quite stable molecule, the Br group is very stabile and the methoxy groups are also pretty robust. The boiling point of 2C-B is pretty much identical with that of DMT (333°C, 631°F), the latter one being a much less stable molecule.
