Kratom is a wonderful substance. There is no question that an addiction can develop. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. There is always a reason when the consumption of substances gets out of hand. Everyone is different, and what is not a problem for one person is hard for someone else to overcome.
I have been consuming kratom almost daily for about 1 1/2 months now. In the beginning I said to myself, just a few days, then I'll take a break. Pretty soon I noticed that I was lying to myself and always finding new excuses and justifications for continued consumption. After about three weeks I decided to stop fooling myself. To tell myself that I would continue to take it without lying to myself. I am still recovering from a long psychotic episode. Kratom is currently helping me find some peace.
The addiction manifests itself in a craving for the substance and an occasional runny nose. Also occasionally I have to sneeze. My consumption amounts to 3g-4g daily. In the first weeks I sometimes used 3g-4g twice a day. I have no discontinuation symptoms and still feel fully in the saddle. I can compare the dependence potential for me! with coffee. I know that at least currently, I could stop at any time if I wanted to. I have consciously decided not to do this at the moment. Mindfulness is very important.
Now to the actual planned content of this report. Two types of preparation.
Kratom Tea:
Needed for my approach:
Kratom
Scale
Water
Natural cloudy apple cider vinegar
French press
Coffee filter
Filter paper
First, I weigh the amount of kratom I want to use. I out the kratom in the French press and bring water to boil. After the water has boiled and the bubbles have settled, I put this into the press. The boiling water has little to no effect on the potency in my experience.
After I've done this, I pour in a small amount of apple cider vinegar. A little more than a tablespoon is absolutely enough. The ascorbic acid lowers the pH and thus allows more active ingredient to be extracted. A tea is no more and no less than an extraction.
I let the mixture sit for about twenty minutes, stirring occasionally. It is important when using acid that your pots, spoons, and so forth are stainless steel. Acids dissolve certain metals that can be very unhealthy.
The last step is to filter the tea through the filter paper placed in the coffee filter lined with a sheet of Zewa [toilet paper]. The press has a metal sieve, which already leaves most of the fine powder behind. The paper catches the rest. The plant material is very difficult to impossible to digest, and in my experience is not needed for the desired effect. I can't tell any difference to be honest.
Kratom Cookies:
Needed for my approach:
32g Kratom
Scale
Oven
Mixer
70g flour
60g butter
1 tablespoon molasses
1 ripe banana
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
50g chocolate and or nuts
The amount depends on the number of cookies I want. From the amounts I gave, I was able to get eight cookies with 4g of kratom in each.
After I've weighed the things to be weighed, I take a deep breath and mix the butter with the molasses and salt, beating these ingredients until fluffy with a mixer.
I mash the ripe banana with a fork and stir it in until it is creamy. A banana that is not ripe also works. However, it will not mud as nicely.
Now I take about a third of the flour aside and mix it with the baking soda.
Then add one tablespoon of flour and one tablespoon of kratom at a time. The dough becomes comparatively firm. If it becomes too firm I loosen it up with either some yogurt and or another, half banana. A dash of canola oil also does the trick. The mixer draws attention to itself in this case.
At the end I add the flour baking soda mixture, and then chocolate and or nuts. I use Toblerone.
Set the oven to convection and preheat it to 170°C/338°F. Spread the dough either in blobs or whole, on a baking tray lined with baking paper. After 15-20 minutes I turn off the oven and use the residual heat. The convection oven still stays on.
They taste super awesome as I think and also work. Maybe a little less strong than the tea or Toss and Wash. In any case, they work flawlessly.
Finally, I wish you all the best in these difficult times!
