I laid down and fell asleep, then suddenly (it seemed) I woke up but I couldn't move at all. I was talking to my ex-girlfriend standing next to me, and then one of my friends, and then someone who I cannot remember. I could hear them AND see them clearly. But I couldn't move at all. Then suddenly I wasn't sure if I was breathing, it seemed as if I was breathing incredibly slowly...but not fast enough. I eventually was able to barely move my hand and knock it on the head board of the bed to make a sound loud enough to 'wake me up'.
I went online to research this and I found out about a condition called Sleep Paralysis. I then discovered an article suggesting a link between amphetamine use and Sleep Paralysis. It turns out that ones body can fall asleep before ones mind does and then when one becomes conscious they're still out of sync.
Now that I know what this is, and that I'm not in any danger, I wouldn't really mind if it happened again. In truth, it was pretty trippy...
