My mother was prescribed to a handfull of 'fun drugs' including oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and ambien. All which say right on the bottle, 'Federal law prohibits the transfer of this drug to any other than the patient for whom it was prescribed.' So it wasn't long before I had stolen them. My Mom caught on about the pain killers, because thats all I had tryed and so I thought 'on to the next' and took two 10mg Ambien from her bottle. I didnt have time to take them because I was already 10 minutes late for my daily rehab so I slipped them into my pocket. Rehab was 3 hours long, but we had a 15 min. Ciggarette break half way through. Thats when I decided to pop the ambien and come inside from smoking. Rehab was over and my parents came to pick me up. I asked my mom if I could drive(because I had driven under the influence of pain killers and Weed just fine) and she let me. We start driving and at this point I am really feeling the effects and I start swerving from lane to lane being honked at and my mom has to grab the wheel and press on the break for me. We switch seats and I told her that I was just a little to tired to drive and she bought it. I slept in the car on the way home and slept all through the night. In the morning I wake and remember little of what happened as if it were a dream I had the night before. I go downstairs and to my surprise my mom and dad are sitting waiting to have a parent-child talk. I told them I was just tired, thinking in my head 'why oh why did I do that.' After that day I was extra careful about my Ambien use.
Because of my ignorance to the drug I could have been in a serious accedent. I was very lucky I did not hurt myself or more importantly someone else on the road. I still use Ambien now and have fun using it but if there is one thing I know now it is 'Be careful using Ambien.'
