I ate 13 or so cacao beans before an hour-long Vipassana meditation session, and I was picking up some good vibrations from the beans. To make sure I stayed in the light, I finished off the meditation with a lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram as well as a banishing ritual of the hexagram (these are precautions I take every time I venture into the unknown) and proceeded to snort an 8mg line.
All the reports on-line seem to overemphasise the burning that 5-meo-creates in the sinus cavity. True, it burns. Sort of like cayenne pepper up the nose, but nothing to ruin a perfectly good trip obessing over. Not that I could actually obsess over it, since by the time the drip hit the back of my throat, I began to come on, and slip beyond the bounds of my obsessive, habit-shackled primate programming. I totally lost my connection to the familiarity of my H. Sapiens self and experienced a detatched equanimity toward my sensations that I think only the most fervently persistent Buddhist mditators can attain. In fact, I was so alien to my sense perceptions that I saw my self AS an alien being, a tall, slender, alien with a strong Buddha-nature. I was liquid light, beyond the simple, protein-based body that has endless needs to fulfill. The experience was SO transcendant that it was actually alien, or at least, alien was the only thing I knew of that I could identify the experience with, so it took on that sort of quality. I then began to suspect that perhaps certain insects may have a similar state of consciousness, like, say... cockroaches. I thus began to perceive myself as a sort of large, insectoid Buddha, and then, as the buddha nature in all life. And I realized that the dissolution of the the attatchments to the primate body was the gift that the 5-meo-dmt had given me. And I realized that if I persisted in my meditations, I could continue working toward a stable state very much like this one (I had become interested in gap-enhancing substances like DMT and S. Divinorum as a result of frightening experiences during deep meditations of an alienation from everything I associated with I or me), but at least this would give me a bit of a boost toward a direct apprehension of ego-loss and body disidentification.
And then my nose began to run, and I started to come down. In all I think the experience lasted no more than 30 minutes from snort to rip to stitch, with the warm retrospective cozy of a freshly laundered blanket lasting about 15 minutes afterward. It definitely merits further experimentation, as I intend to compare the effects of smoked 5-meo-dmt vs. insufflated.
