I am a frequent mind altering substance user, one of my favorite things to do is toke it up. I haven't had a lot of experience with psychedelics, Ambien is one of the first that I have tried. I don't take any prescriptions, though I do have some, and I rarely do many pills. I've had bad experiences on Xanax, so I don't like to combine pills often.

A couple weeks ago, I went to my friend's house. We were fucking around, and I was trying not to take anything because I've had some bad experiences with pills, but I went ahead. He had promethazine, which can be used for pain or as a sleep aid. He was prescribed it for an injury he sustained from a bottle rocket in his face. I also took Ambien. I didn't trip much, but he gave me almost a full bottle when I left.

My latest trip was the best one I have had to date. I definitely recorded (by writing) all that I could while doing it. I took one 10 mg pill, and a little more than half of another, at around 12:45 in the morning. While doing it, to see the effects, I had a techno CD on, and my black lavalamp:

I began to feel the effects about 20 minutes after I took it. This was slightly late, usually it hits about 10-15 minutes after ingestion. I did not creep into the euphoria, I was hit extremely hard. I had been typing, trying to set up the word document I was going to record my experience on, and it was as if the world had suddenly changed. Everything was alive, everything had a mind of its own. I had opened my paint program, and my computer and I began to draw a picture, together. It was incredible, as if the computer were adding its own touches to the drawing. The drawing was also drawing itself, and it was almost dancing, it seemed, to the music I had playing. It was changing shapes and dimensions as I played with it.

I then became very confused, utter hysteria almost. I was so confused, I couldn't figure out what I was confused about. I would look up, and forget why, and worry about it. I then looked at my lavalamp, and it seemed like it was superspeeding. It was amazing, almost like it was dancing to the music as well.

I then came back to the computer, and with my fingers on the keyboard, it felt like my computer was breathing. The same speed I was as well, and I began to feel my desk and chair breathe as well. It was almost as if it took my breath, and then returned it once it was done, like a circle of life.

All at once, I started seeing everything, having conversations with everything in my mind. My sheets, my windows, my lamp, a bowling pin. We were all discussing something... and it seemed we were all moving to the beat of the techno, as if I was connected to each and every existence in my room.

I then closed my eyes, not to attempt sleep, just to see if I could see anyone/anything. I began (what felt like) driving my truck. I was in my truck on the open road in rhythm with the beat, and when it changed my vehicle took flight. *note* during this trip, at a couple points, I did feel slightly nauseated, and had a trashcan near me just incase, it can happen*

It was one of the most amazing trips I've ever had, at least the part that I could remember.

I woke up about 10 the next morning, drowsy still *not hangover*, as if I hadn't taken a sleep aid, or I hadn't gone to sleep until late. I remember some of what happened, but not everything that I had written down. I hadn't written much, and the whole time, I was totally confused, and my writing in some places isn't legible.

All in all, Ambien is one of my favorite substances, but like all mind-altering substances, it is one to be taken with care.
