I am the type of person that gets a craving for weed every once in a blue moon.. not a habitual smoker but I do enjoy the occasional (ie: once or twice a year, if that) hit or two of MJ. I was right smack in the middle of one of those times but being the goody goody that I am I have no contacts or any way to procure some, usually when I come upon the oppurtunity it's coincidental or my stepbrother makes mention of some he's obtained. So I did what most people in my position would do, I turned to the internet, and lo and behold I hit upon some sites mentioning that you could get a nice albeit brief 'high' from catnip tea and smoke. Well shit, I have catnip..

First I tried mixing it with a cigarette because from what I have read the effects are greater when taken with tobacco. I emptied out a cig and mixed it with equal parts (maybe a bit more) of catnip. The smoke was very smooth when mixed with tobacco, smelled incredibly like weed and tasted similar.

The effects were pretty much instant, not so much a high as just a relaxed happy feeling. Not really much I could tell.

I decided to try a bowl of it and got out my pipe (yeah, even tho I am a goody goody I do have a pipe, dont ask), packed a pretty neat bowl, not too much I was still nervous about the emetic effects catnip can have, and I didnt feel like puking. Lemme tell you, taking the first hit of that bowl was like having a semi drive down my throat. Not rough enough to make me cough but foul tasting, the descriptions of freshly cut grass and burnt rubber are not far off. Not so horrible I wouldnt finish the bowl but definately harsher than marijuana. Same effects, nice floaty feeling but nothing major.

For my last experiment of the night I pulled out another cig and this time made sure I pulled all the tobacco out and was very careful about how I prepared it. Got MORE of the catnip/tobacco mixture stuffed in the cigarrete and it really worked nicely. Very nice sorta relaxed/floaty feeling and as of right now no nausea to speak of. The high-ish (I wouldn't really call it a true high) feeling wears off as soon as I stop smoking, but the relaxed euphoria lingers on a bit longer. The taste would probably stop me from smoking a straight bowl, and since it works better when inhaled with tobacco, I will stick to mixing it with my cigarettes.
