I'm 19 and have been in to drugs for all of my teenage years. It all started out when my mom asked me to hang out with my friend Jordan from church. Everyone thought that he was such a Jesus Freak and always wanted to be around him. He was 3 years older then I. I started smoking pot with him, moved onto coke and extacy, and oxycontins(usually binges that lasted 2 or 3 weeks). I kept it hidden very well from my parents who had no idea of anything. On the last night of January, I had a shitty day at work and decided to give him a call. He said 'fuck spending $50 on an oxy, lets go to the city and get some dope'. I didnt think twice about it and agreed. We drove down to Philly and coped the stuff. The whole ride I was bugging him with questions about heroin, I as had never tried it. I spent 20 dollars on 2 bags. Dropped him off and went to my girlfriends house. My girlfriend of three years had never even smoked weed and she had no idea how bad I was into drugs.

I snorted on bag at about 8 pm, before I went in to her house. At first it felt good, but then I was just out of it, slobbering on myself and everything. She asked me what the hell was going on and I stated that I had gotten some percocets from a guy at work and I took more then I should have. She bought it and took me to her room to lay down. I woke up at around 5:30 and grabbed my wallet. I danced to the bathroom knowing I could snort another bag, enjoy it, and then go back to sleep. I layed the line of H out on the bathroom counter and snorted it up. I layed down and turned on the TV. Next thing I remember, I'm being transferred from one ambulance to another with no clothes on. I woke up in the hospital and was told I overdosed on heroin. My girlfriend later told me that she had woke up and was getting ready for work. As she was walking out to her car she realized that she hadn't given me a kiss before she left. When she came back in and bent down to kiss me, she noticed my skin was pale and my lips and hands were purple. When the paramedics got there I had no heartbeat and wasnt breathing. All it took was 1 time. I didnt do an extreme or even heavy amount and luckily, my life was spared. If it hadn't been for my loving girlfriend wanting to kiss her sleeping boyfriend before she left, I would no longer be here. As for now, I am clean and have been for 8 months and 24 days. I'm am going to college and hoping to become an addiction counselor one day. I'm not preaching to anyone(god knows I cant).
