DOSE:
40 mg oral Amphetamines (daily)
BODY WEIGHT: 140 lb
I really don't understand many of these postings. I was diagnosed ADD as an adult and prescribed Adderall several years ago. I was very skeptical that in fact I was ADD, but I tried the medicine. I was somewhat alarmed after about 20 minutes when everything around me seemed to become quiet, when in fact there was no noise. I realized it was the buzz inside my head quieting down, for a lack of a better explanation. I have never felt 'speeded up' when taking Adderall, and never felt the need to take it - I would take it because it helped some of more annoying 'ADD habits', such as constantly interrupting people and not being able to sit still in meetings. In fact, after a few years, I would start to get sleepy about 20 minutes after taking a dose. I would usually forget to take the second dose, so my scrip would last more than a month. I have never taken Adderall without a prescription, and stopped taking it completely (primarily due to persistent 'dry mouth') without any 'withdrawl' symptoms.
