The following is my experience with morphine I had a few months back that turned into, what I believe, a near death experience.
In my quest to find and try new drugs, and broaden my connections with other dealers, I met a friend of a friend who could readily obtain morphine. More specially 100mg of morphine in pill form. After discussing prices I decided to buy two blue pills, with little 100s stamped on them, for 10 bucks a piece.
It was around 7pm, I was playing hacky sack with some buddies in a church parking lot when I decided to try a pill. I chopped up half a pill and made a nice fat line out of it. It all went down with a quick sniff of the nose. This was bad and the drip was worse.
As I chatted with friends I started to get a REALLY nice opiate buzz. Once I started to feel good I did the rest of the first pill the same way. After about 20 minutes I was as high as a kite. Unlike most people on opiates, I like to stand and walk around and enjoy the lightness of my limbs. My friends, not high, were starting to get bored so they asked me if I wanted to go roll a cloud. I of course said yes, but before getting into the car I decided to take the last pill. This would put me up to 200mg in less than half an hour (I would also like to point out that I had absolutely no tolerance to opiates at the time). Also not knowing the difference between a low dose and a high dose of morphine this didn’t seem at all dangerous. Unlike the first pill, I chewed the second and chased it with a gulp of water.
As we drove around we smoked some super dank weed (sour diesels to be specific). After about two hits I was so high I could hardly move, and decided that I couldn’t smoke anymore. When my friends were done smoking, they dropped me off at my house and headed home for the night. This is when I got the first indication that I may have overdone it with the morph. I walked like I was drunk, and not just a little drunk. I walked like I was completely shit-faced. Remarkably I made it into the house and into my room and fell into my giant beanbag to watch some tv.
This is where things started to get a little scary. I laid in my beanbag for about five minutes before I realized I didn’t even turn on the tv yet. After I turned on the tv I stared blankly at it for at least 10 minutes before I realized I was watching infomercials. Trying to get a hold of myself I turned it to a show I enjoyed and tried to concentrate. About then is when I believed the situation turn life threatening. As I watched the tv I realized my breathing and heart rate were extremely slow/low. My heart rate was probably around 40 and I had to make a conscious effort to breathe.

I woke up in the morning glad to be alive. I pinched myself to make sure I was still alive, but I felt absolutely nothing! My entire body was completely numb. When I stood up I realized I was still extremely high. At least as high as I was when I fell asleep (minus the pot).
I stumbled upstairs to get a drink of orange juice because my mouth was bone dry. Taking a sip confirmed I was still very much flying. My taste buds were completely shot. This wasn’t the type of tastelessness I get from too much liquor either. I looked in my cup. It looked like orange juice. I dumped a little out in the sink just to make sure, and sure enough, it was orange juice.
Just then the nausea kicked in. I stumbled to the bathroom and puked, and when I thought I was done puking I puked again. I thought to myself, “fuck how the hell am I going to work like this.” Unfortunately I had to go to work in 20 minutes.
[Erowid Note: Driving while intoxicated, tripping, or extremely sleep deprived is dangerous and irresponsible because it endangers other people. Don't do it!]
Going against my better instincts I drove to work. (I do not recommend driving while high on morphine, because I was definitely more fucked up than if I had pounded 12 beers). I wasn’t at work for more than a half an hour when I tossed the cookies again. Unable to work efficiently I decided I had to leave. I also decided to leave because I was stumbling around, and my pupils were the size of the tip of a needles and I didn’t want my boss to put two and two together.
To sum things up I made it home safely, slept for another 5 hours and woke up sober.
The moral of the story- dose carefully and wait till I start coming down before dosing again. Although more does make me feel even better, there’s a point where it becomes dangerous. I wasn’t even at the peak before I doubled my dose. A stupid and potentially life threatening choice. Live and learn….
And remember, knowledge is power!
