repeated oral Pharms - Zolpidem (pill / tablet)
BODY WEIGHT: 225 lb
I have a job where I work rotating shifts. This has always made sleep difficult. I used to work in a pharmacy, so I had my choice of meds. I have sampled the vast majority of controlled substances, preferring the reliability in dose and availability over street drugs. I have always had a mild anxiety/depression from a bad childhood, so as an adult I was always looking for something to make me feel different or better. I found that I most enjoyed drugs that relaxed me, as opposed to stimulants. The best drug I ever found to make you stupid in a hurry was Placidyl. This is what Elvis took. It is no longer manufactured. Imagine feeling the effect of a six pack in 5 seconds -- that's how Placidyl kicks in.

Eventually, after being habituated to Fioricet (barbiturate) and opiates, I found that I couldn't function and continue using these drugs. I settled on the idea that I'll just take something at night to relax me and help regulate my sleep patterns. Prior to Ambien, the only good short acting sedative/hypnotic was Halcion. Then, around '97 Ambien came on the market. I've been taking it now for about 11 years. One does develop a tolerance. To get 'high' off it, I now have to take about 50 or 60mg/dose. I suppose I have taken as much as 16 10mg pills in a 24 hr. period. Unfortunately, this drug, at this dose is hard to detox from. The anxiety, sleeplessness and nightmares are awful. Also, if I go on a several day binge, I notice within about 18 hours I begin to feel real shaky/twitchy.
