I've been drinking coffee and tea since the age of 5 years old. Before going to elementary school, my dad would give me part of his espresso coffee, but strongly diluted with milk. I would want to drink tea, as my parent drank a lot of tea, so they gave me some tea also.
Ever since, I drink coffee every morning and several cups of tea day.
I would also sneak in the kitchen and make myself cups of instant coffee around the age of 7.

When I hit high school, I got to several cups of coffee a day and several cups of tea. But when I hit college I was drinking about 6 cups of coffee minimum per day, with tea and caffeine sodas on top of that, but my college years, I drank mostly coffee.

A couple month ago, I was drinking about 2-5 cups of coffee and up to 5 to 8 cups of tea a day. Sometime I drink sodas with guarana and ginseng, tea made with ginseng and guarana or added some gingseng and guarana to my teas and sometime coffee. Most of the time if you came in my work office, I would have a coffee and a tea at all time on my table and I would drink the two alternating them, this sounds extreme and it is, but I didn't noticed at the time, that was just the way I was for several years and stayed focus at work.

This is a subtile addiction, it started slowly and I slowly raised the amount of caffeine I drink. At one point, I was drinking a full cup of espresso ( about 4 espressos in one cup ) just to feed my caffeine need, I wasn't drinking filter coffee anymore.

Up to recently, I hit a point when I was always on caffeine intoxication ( overdose ), which creates hard migraines, nervousness, insomnia ( I only slept something like 3 hours and would wake up every 0h30 -1h00 if I fell asleep ) and aggressive behaviors. Migraine medication doesn't work at this point, since it contains caffeine also.

I totally understood my addiction when I try to quit caffeine of all source cold turkey. I had the most severe withdrawal of my life. I quit cigarettes several times for long periods of times and now I smoke on occasion without feeling addicted to it or withdrawal. But caffeine did give me severe withdrawals; headache, nervousness, bad mood, aggressive behaviors, lack of concentration, nausea, puking, anxiety, un-controlled muscle movement, running around in circles looking for something I don't have a clue what I am looking for ( my brain just wants caffeine ) and just yelling at people for no reason. After 5 days I couldn't take it, I got back to my cup of coffee in the morning, now I'm trying to cut down, but I don't think I'll ever quit my sweet caffeine completely. Right now I got down to 1 to 2 cups of coffee and several cups of tea. The tea somehow is more addictive to me then coffee.

Anyways, this is a warning, watch out.
