DOSE: T+ 0:00 |
1 oz | oral | Kava | (liquid) |
T+ 2:50 | 1 bowl | smoked | Cannabis |
BODY WEIGHT: | 190 lb |
me: about 190lbs. mindset/setting: happy and relaxed at home after work
1 oz kava prepared the traditional grog way. I added one pint of 2%milk at the start of the brewing process (kava kava is not water soluble). Drank 1/2 a cup every 10 minutes till it was gone. I did strain it but I opted to keep the kava powder in the cup. This is my first kava experience. Also used towards the end: 1 bowl of some good chronic.
(about 5:40pm) t+ 1 minute: feel a numbing on the tongue and lips. It is slight, like when coming off novacaine. Made my stomach a little warm. The taste is not completely horrible, it is bitter though. Cinnamon smell.
t+10 minute: after my second cup I ate a small (200 cal) meal to help potentiate the effects.
t+30 minute: The following effects may be psychosomatic, I heard the effects take longer to kick in. I feel extremely relaxed but am clear headed. Muscles are feeling warm and relaxed as well. The feeling is akin to a mild narcotic.
t+40 minute: On a 1-5 relaxation scale (one being high energy and five being almost asleep), I am about a three. Head is still clear though. I feel it in the body.
t+60 minute: I have finished my grog. After prepared it made about 6 of my 1/2 size cups. I feel the same as previously reported. Stomach is slightly queezy, but I think that is the taste more than anything else. The taste is a bit like coffee with less acidity. Milk makes it more drinkable.
t+70 minute: Peak is starting. My relaxation level is about 3.5 (according to my relaxation scale). I hope to reach four. Level four would consist of me melting into the couch in euphoric bliss, not asleep but barely holding onto wakefullness.
t+75 minute: On my relaxation scale I am pushing 3.8. Not quite a four. I am euphoric without feeling sloppy, which is what happens with alcohol (being sloppy that is). My body feels very warm and less responsive. Chillaxin yO!
t+90 minute: Wow! Still on the peak. This stuff is awesome. The price is a little bit more expensive than alcohol but well worth it. It would make a great pain treatment. I can think clearly, not as clearly as being sober. For reference, I think I could speak eloquently about my recent chem or bio subjects.
t+110 minutes: Feel about the same as previously reported, effects are not waning. This would make a better social drink than alcohol because of stronger empathic effects and less of the sloppiness. My wife is on the way home and that made me more happy than normal.
t+130 minute: Effects leveled off about 10 minutes ago and they are draining away, albeit slowly.
t+170 minute: Effects are now mild but enjoyable. I am relaxed and tired. Time to smoke a bowl of marijuana.
(about 9:10pm) t+210 minutes: Feel tired. Sleep time.
