DOSE:
200 mg oral Modafinil (pill / tablet)
BODY WEIGHT: 215 lb
About a month ago my mom, who suffers from chronic fatigue due to her multiple sclerosis, was given several sample boxes of Provigil 200mg to help give her a boost of energy through the day. She neglected to use them due to a lifelong distrust of medicine, so I decided to give them a try.

I have some experience with standard amphetamines and this is quite different. Rather than the rushing surge one receives from Adderall and its kind, Provigil instead works in a more subtle way. When taking it, I will not even notice its effects until several hours have gone by and I realize that I have gotten much more accomplished than I would have without it. Here’s a simple rundown of the effects Provigil has had on me the several times I have used it…

-No difference between 100mg, 200mg, 300mg, or 400mg
-Increase in physical energy by 50%
-Increase in mental energy by 75%
-Mood elevated by 75%
-Effects last approximately 8 hours

It has no pleasurable effects so far as I can tell. It is one of the few medications I have tried which works exactly as it is advertised – an increase in mood and energy with a low risk of dependence.

Effective? Yes.
Fun? No.
