Surprisingly Nice This One Night
Melatonin & Alcohol - Beer
Citation:   Tom H.. "Surprisingly Nice This One Night: An Experience with Melatonin & Alcohol - Beer (exp76740)". Erowid.org. Jan 8, 2018. erowid.org/exp/76740

DOSE:
3 glasses oral Alcohol - Beer/Wine (liquid)
6 mg oral Melatonin (pill / tablet)
BODY WEIGHT: 160 lb
I have tried melatonin about a month ago for the duration of 2 full weeks and the only effect it really had was making me tired. But of course, this was expected because that is what melatonin is marketed for. Although I didn't find anything very unusual about melatonin during those 2 weeks, I found out that I needed to take a full 6 mg to feel any effects at all, even though in our brain less than 1 mg is actually produced at night; I guess this is to do with he inefficient absorption of the human digestive system. I stopped after those 2 weeks because I don't know much about long term melatonin use yet and didn't want to run into any troubles during the time that I'm writing my final exams. So this week I wrote 2 extremely frustrating exams (calculus and physics) and found out that I couldn't sleep very well after writing my exams because I cant stop thinking about what marks I have gotten. I went 2 nights with very little sleep before I decided to use melatonin again. So tonight, about an hour ago, I took 6 mg of melatonin and drank 3 beers and its just hitting me now much stronger than ever before. I am getting this rush of warm feelings through my entire body that I would consider a very mild euphoria, much like a mild form of ecstasy, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it euphoric because that word is reserved for only the absolute best feelings.

I want to also note that I don't throw around the talk about mild euphoric feelings for just anything like some people. No, I need to get to at least a ++ on the Shulgin scale before I would even consider writing an experience report.

Now, after analyzing what I have done differently today as opposed to a month ago, I have come to some conclusions: this is the first time I have combined melatonin with alcohol which could cause the mild euphoria, or it could be that I haven't taken melatonin for a month and my body had a very low tolerance.

Iether way, this drug (melatonin) is extremely similar to many drugs that cause halucinations and extreme euphoria as seen in TIHKAL, and I believe it deserves a lot more experimentation in combination with other drugs.

Now I'm off to enjoy this feeling.
