I wanted to try Amanita Muscaria for years and never got around to it. I have done plenty of other entheogens. I did have ambivalence about them given the mixed reports, but I finally ordered some and what a bunch of variable responses did I have!
My first time, I was very cautious and ate only a gram, from which I experienced a short, mild euphoria. Every hour for about 4-5 hrs I took another gram or two and it never seemed to really take off. Finally I took a bong hit of pot just to have a strong official trip. Within 5 minutes it boosted the Amanita into overdrive and I found that I was trippin' intensely. I had to walk around because I felt this intense energy coursing through me, like my nervous system had been hooked up to electricity. It was unsettling to say the least. I found that I could still articulate myself intelligently, but I felt some fear. My friend also felt similar agitation and he invited me onto his upstairs patio balcony for fresh air. He said that he found looking at the sky to be stabilizing and helpful and I agree that it did. We noticed our depth perception felt screwy and took notice of a cloud in the sky that looked uncannily shaped like a flying saucer, which was appropriate, as this was a very 'alien' trip. I went back inside and literally had to dance just to feel o.k. I also felt like it gave me increased sensitivity to where I have energy blockages/parasites on my body. It felt very shamanistic and intense and only dancing and chanting felt helpful, but mostly this was just to get through it because I was frightened. I didn't want to lose consciousness --I felt like when I sat down that I could.

Later I experimented with some mostly small dosages and found it made me exuberant and a little unstable. One time I actually felt a strong urge to fight someone and felt like I could have whooped their ass with efficient berzerker intensity. I also experienced the very disconcerting sweats that can happen, in which I shivered, sweat, took repeated hot showers and couldn't wait for them to stop. Like I said it is quite variable.
Now to my main point. I made tea with a bunch of Amanita shake/powder a couple of weeks later. It was perhaps too much quantity. While I found it intensely euphoric and I did trip and experience some fun, I also noticed immediate gastrointestinal cramping and my sides hurt. This was the beginning of pain, weakness and cognitive difficulty in focusing and having poor attention span, as well as intense liver irritation, which in turn made me one moody s.o.b. And I was sick for the next 6 days. I had to cut out all coffee, take a bunch of green powders, milk thistle and chinese liver herbs as well as eat tons of healthy food to recover.
I don't care what anyone says this stuff can screw up my liver and kidneys fast and hard. I am already concerned that I damaged them. I felt really stupid, because the high was hardly worth it. I believe it can bestow a spiritual/shamanistic experience but, nothing like psilocybin. It's much more harsh and variable. It's more like a poisonous ordeal with gusts of euphoria that are closer to being drunk on alcohol. It can make me very dizzy. In fact, I felt like when I closed my eyes, that I was falling backwards-- super dizzy. Nothing to mess around with. If would stay super low dose, for energy and mild euphoria and use very infrequently.
