Within an hour after taking the pill, I felt weird. I was out driving, so I stopped at the mall to do some shopping. The first symptom was a relatively strong panic attack upon walking into the mall. I used to have panic attacks as a teenager, but I control them now with a small daily dose of xanax (I didn't take any xanax today, so it's of little consequence). Anyway, while the panic attack was alarming, I convinced myself that I was fine, and was able to calm myself down somewhat. Then I began to experience some more effects. The first was a heaviness in my legs, followed by a rapid heartbeat which I knew was not associated with panic disorder. Then I began sweating profusely and shaking. I knew I was in trouble, so I left the mall and began driving home.
About half way home, I experienced the craziest, most miserable panic attack of my life. My heart rate skyrocketed and I felt like I was going to either die or pass out. I pulled over to the side of the road, and began walking. I walked about a mile down the road, trying to calm myself down, which took a shitload of mental energy. I felt incredibly hot, yet freezing cold at the same time.
I felt incredibly hot, yet freezing cold at the same time.
Colors were brighter, and there was a strange distortion of space that's hard to articulate. It wasn't very intense, but it was noticeable for sure. Finally I got home and immediately got online to research what the hell was happening to me. It turns out that Yohimbe is some fucking nasty shit, and it's even nastier when combined with antidepressants. But alas, I couldn't find a single citation of someone dying in my circumstance. So I rode the rest of it out, which by that point was reduced to chills, restlessness, and a general shitty feeling. It's been twelve hours since I took this poison, and I feel like I've been hit by a truck but I'm still somewhat sped up.
My mind still isn't functioning at 100%, but it's coming back to me. The shit is finally wearing off I think. In the end, I will never EVER take Yohimbe again. I wouldn't give that pill bottle to my worst enemy. It's useless poison. The idea that this garbage is legal to sell to anyone with nothing more than a vague warning label is frightening. It should be banned and possession of it should be a crime.
