I’ve been interested in legals recently…after being introduced to, and thoroughly enjoying mephedrone via this route, it was decided by the group experimental collective to acquire a new legal substance to play with…

And so we enter the GBL phase. I like legals in that they are cheap, easy to obtain and very pure. GBL is a prodrug of GHB, which is a class C drug here in the UK. GBL kicks in quicker, lasts longer, and is more potent weight for weight. It was sold online as ‘car alloy cleaner’ (mephedrone as plant food).

The GBL bottle was supplied with a small pipette, and 1.5ml is added to a tiny glass of wine or orange juice and either sipped or drank quickly (due to the foul taste of GBL, I prefer to down mine).

The effects are very very nice indeed. Very similar to alcohol, but I think it surpasses it greatly (apart from the taste!). Much more buzzy in the head and body, and there is a noticeable empathic quality to it that far surpasses alcohol. I feel a strong desire to talk and joke, often loudly, and I feel very warm and content. I also tend to drink less when I’ve had GBL. I also feel quite stimulated, despite this being a powerful sedative supposedly. Dancing and walking is fun, and I am tactile and generally feel well disposed towards anyone else around, and enjoy conversation. It is a very powerful intoxication, yet at the same time, very smooth and gentle.
