I was prescribed Lorazepam (Ativan) to allay my social anxiety symptoms. I was instructed to take 1 to 2 .5mg tablets 3 times daily. I had already tripped on the stuff prior to obtaining my own prescription and I loved the way it made me feel, so I never followed the dosage recommendations and took the pills recreationally. The trips were fantastic- almost identical to getting drunk but without a hangover. I would get a fast onset, usually within 15-30 mins after consumption. Trips were comprised of the following:

-Heavy feeling in extremeties
-Slow speech (slurred during harder trips)
-Intense calmness
-Found humor in many things
-Shortened short-term memory
-acute sense of detatchment from reality
-extremely easy to pretend to be sober
-no feeling of impairment during trip
-memory loss

The best part about this drug is there aren't any negative come-down effects. Because of this, I tripped very frequently for about 2 months straight. However, most people are prone to develop tolerance with this drug, and my case was no exception. At first I could get a great trip off 3mg, then I slowly progressed to 5-6mg, until I finally built up such a strong tolerance that even 8mg produced only mild effects. I am now taking the drug as prescribed by my doctor for about 2 months, then discontinuing it for 1 month. Hopefully after that my tolerance will have decreased a considerable amount and I will be able to enjoy the chemical at it's full potential again.
