I had taken 1mg of Xanax about 5 hours prior to sleeping. My normal routine at the time was to take a melatonin pill before sleep as it really helps me fall asleep. Before I took the melatonin I pondered if I actually needed it considering Xanax can knock you out as well. However, Since it had been at least 5 hours since I took the Xanax and I had not felt its effects any longer (or so I thought) I decided to take the melatonin. I fell asleep, probably immediately (who ever remembers falling asleep?). What I remember during my sleep was being in my room, stumbling around trying to stand up and being completely unable to do so. I began flailing my arms around smashing into furniture with my body, trying to prop myself up only to have the furniture be moved with such force the ended upside down, on top of eachother, completely strewn about the room like a bunch of dirty clothes. I soon realized I was dreaming and tried to wake myself up. I opened my eyes to see my room but became confused not being able to figure out if I was seeing my room within my dream or in 'reality'. I then fell in and out of this 'dream' until I woke up the next morning completely confused. My furniture was in its normal position and I then realized what was occuring during the night.

Later during the day at work I looked up drug interactions online and every place I checked said that Xanax and Melatonin interacted with eachother causing moderate to sever motor skills malfunctions and can also cause coma. This kind of blew my mind because obviously this was exactly what was occurring, but within my dream. Not only that but the fact I kept falling in and out of the dream without being able to control myself, creeped me out immensely. Fortunately melatonin isn't a drug people take for a good time. I hope someone finds this story helpful if not interesting.
