A few months ago, a friend gave me a small amount of an herbal incense called Spike Diamond. Since I'm not into trying strange drugs I didn't try it for a month or two, and forgot about it. I finally tried some after doing some research online and talking to some friends. I loved it - it was a great, consistent high. I got a whole packet of it and would mix it in with my regular weed, but it's fairly expensive so I started looking at other brands. I found one or two that were cheaper and okay potency-wise but was still primarily smoking natural marijuana.
I found another smoke shop in my area and tried a few of the brands they carried and finally found Fantasy Pure Gold. Three or four hits and that's all it took. This brand is about ten dollars cheaper than Spike Diamond and just as good. Since this is legal to buy, I've been smoking mostly the Fantasy Pure for a few weeks now and built up a slight tolerance, but I can still get nice and relaxed with much less than it would take with marijuana.
Last night was my first really bad experience. I was going to bed and smoked a little less than half a bowl. It was the last bit of the packet so it was like fine shake. I smoked and got pretty high. Nothing was out of the ordinary at first. I was laying in my bed, and can't say how long after smoking everything started, I would guess about ten to fifteen minutes after the high set in. I started feeling as though I had to remind myself to breathe, that lasted for about twenty minutes. Suddenly I felt a sudden 'burst' that felt like it was coming from my heart. It wasn't painful or anything, but it didn't feel right at all. I wondered if my heart had stopped for a moment. That happened once more, and then the scariest thing happened.
It could have been all in my head, I don't know, I was high after all. I had this feeling which is difficult to describe. I felt as though my body was shutting down in a way. The only thing I can compare it to is a car skidding to a stop - I was the car and felt like my body was about to shut down. I was afraid. It's entirely possible that had I embraced this I would have had a different experience, I'm just not sure. The shutting down feeling happened once or twice more so I started texting my sister to come into my room. She was sleeping and didn't come right away. Then my legs started shaking. A lot. I texted her over and over, and during this time the shaking was getting worse. I was starting to become panicked, then my sister finally came into the room.
I could control my voice and actions, but could only whisper and my movements were kind of jerky. I tried to explain what was happening and asked her to sit with me. I told her to feel my legs and within the next five minutes my entire body was spasming. For the next hour my sister sat there with me while various muscles all over my body flailed and shook. Sometimes it would be my arms and legs shaking violently while my neck and hands were completely tensed up. Sometimes it would be one random muscle for a few minutes. Every few minutes after a really bad shake every single muscle in my body would relax and I felt like I was melting into the bed, until the shaking would start again. It was strange because I was joking sometimes about the random twitches I was having, but in the back of my mind I was wondering if I was going to be okay. During this time I could still speak and move on my own if I needed to, which is the only reason I know these were not seizures. At the same time, if I thought about a part of my body it would then start shaking for awhile. A couple of times my face would crumple and I would sob uncontrollably for a few seconds. I put some music on, and felt a bit better, but when a faster song came on everything started up again really badly so I put an episode of 30 rock on and listened to that instead. It was like hearing a beat set off spasms.
After awhile I felt like I could smoke a cigarette (I don't know why, but the whole time I was shaking I really wanted a cig) so I did. After I was done I felt much better. For five or ten minutes I would have a small spasm here and there, but I was starting to feel normal otherwise. I started feeling very sedated but was sure I would be okay. I thanked my sister and told her she could go back to sleep.
I woke up this morning very tired and sore. My body is stiff and I can feel specific muscles that spasmed a lot last night. Because I feel so stiff I really want to smoke and take a nap, but will probably settle for a hot bath and a nap.
Will I smoke Fantasy Pure again? Probably, but I will be more careful not to smoke as much if the incense is too finely broken up, and I will be cutting down overall in my consumption. Last night was too frightening not to be more cautious in the future.
