I originally used meditation for stress relief and gradual spiritual growth. I have always been fascinated with the psychedelic experience. The philosopher, Terence Mckenna, has always been an inspiration to me and I'd like to dedicate this experience to his memory, for his words have always provided me with wisdom and hope.

I had always wondered just how far meditation could be taken. Well, I finally found out. What I experienced was what I could best explain as a natural DMT-style experience. It started with a basic meditation technique that I typically use. I lay down on my back in bed with arms and and legs spread out a bit. The key here is to deprive myself of my senses. No noise. No light. No movement. No thought. Without these senses, the mind will shift from external awareness to internal awareness, since there is no other option available. I would simply breathe. Deep, slow, and intentionally at first. Just follow it. Nothing else. 4 second inhale. Hold it for a few. 4 second exhale. Repeat for the next 15 to 30 minutes. Eventually, the breath will get weaker and weaker. Possibly to a 1 second inhale/exhale. It will also begin to flow on its own without effort. If it does, I let it. Just observe it. Don't interfere. Control is my enemy. I just let it happen on its own.

That's part 1. My mind is now clear, my body is virtually asleep. From here, I get into my favorite sleeping position, shifted over to laying on my stomach since it is my natural sleeping position. I continue watching my breath, no matter the position. I still keep my legs/arms seperated a bit. The more tangled they are, the more they will distract me. I watch... my... breath... That's it. With my body already rested from before, this doesn't take very long, it must of been 10 minutes. Watching/feeling/observing the breath will not only bring me closer to the experience, it will also keep me from completely falling asleep. I'll know when it's happened. I might find myself teleported to a familiar or unfamiliar place. I might be launched. I might feel myself falling, floating, flying, just about anything. This is not regular sleep. Sleep means being unconscious. Here, I am not. When I enter this world, I am aware of what happens, therefore, I control what happens. No rules. No laws. No limit. This is my world. I do with it as I wish. I like to fly around and explore. Could be around the house. Could be the other side of the galaxy. Call it a conscious dream. Call it a mind trip. Call it what you wish.

In the end, its an amazing skill to possess. Not only is it mind-blowing, it is very healthy for me mentally, spiritually, and even physically.
