I'm 21, and have been using Oxycontin for the past 2+ years off an on. At my worst point I was doing roughly 150mg a day via nasal administration. I began shooting up at some point but found the feeling semi worthless as far as banging OC is concerned. But that's beyond the point. I tried quitting twice prior to this past time with no success. The first time was cold turkey and brought on a 8 days of feeling generally out of it and having the sweats and whatnot. I could hardly work. A few months later my girlfriend of 4 years left me, I was in college at the time in another town away from my parents. She was in college near me, left me, I went right back to OC again. My addiction got bad as I had no connects in my area but back at home near my parents I could always find them. So I did just that, dropped out of college and moved home to do pills. Eventually I tried quitting again with a script of suboxone but ended up selling the pills and getting more OC in the long run.
Now time for the third go (three times a charm right?). So I get another script of Suboxone filled and decide to quit after relapsing again. I can't afford to keep doing pills as I'm currently not working and my parents know of my drug habit and are willing to help me out with financing a doctors visit and whatnot. I am to take 8mg in the morning and 4mg at night via sublingual administration.
When I take suboxone I usually put it under my tongue for a good 20 minutes before swallowing. The withdrawals and pain linger away after about 45 minutes. I do not get a 'high ' from this drug even at high doses (30+ mg) but I do feel a different state of mind

Bottom line in my opinion is that suboxone is great but I'm sure it's not for everyone.
