So, I was bored, and I had a small vial of pure elemi oil, that I procured from a local store (sold as an essential oil).

One of the things I have heard about elemi oil is that certain enzymes in the stomach attack it and destroy it. I had it sitting around, and wanted to ensure that I wasn't going to waste it, so instead of playing around with regulating my stomach enzymes with a multitude of various methods, I decided to try and experiment with a simple route that avoided these complications. After some time ensuring the relative safety of my possible choices, I decided that smoking was going to be my trial route, this turned out to be a good choice.

I was on the fence as to whether to dose some sassafras with it, and see what that did, or to dose a cigarette with it, in the end, I decided to go with the cigarette, why push it, right? Anyway, I didn't know how much to use, and came to the conclusion that I should dose on the low end of the spectrum, so I decided to put 2 drops in the tip of the cigarette (which was filtered). This actually proved diffucult with my sub acceptable eye dropper, because of the size of the vial, I could only fill the tip without displacing and spilling the elemi oil, so the air in the dropper I think allowed it to drip, it took 4 attempts to get only 2 drops into a cigarette (the others I think I'll save for later, probably to pass around with friends), but anyways, I went out into the garage, and lit it once it dried. To my surprise, I discovered that elemi oil is flammable, as I took the lighter away from the cigarette, took a drag, and saw the tip of the cigarette burst into small flames, though it only lasted a few seconds, it still caught me off guard, I was glad I was outside, though it was kinda cool looking. I wondered if that fire had killed all the elemicin in the oil, but I decided the only way to find out was to keep smoking, the cigarette was still offcolor where the elemi oil was added. I decided to only take 3 drags, and see where that left me, so I took three, and let the cigarette rest, I only ended up smoking half the discolored part at this point. Despite the flames, the cigarette actually extinguished itself quite fast once I stopped taking drags, which was weird. Seeing how it was out, I decided to just go inside.

Within a minute I started to get a mild buzz and mild euphoria, which built over the next few minutes to a moderate buzz and euphoria. I noticed that everything looked brighter and sharper, as if my eyesight was improved dramatically, and the world was bright and beautiful. I noticed when I closed my eyes I saw very faint lines and shapes, some of them with very hard to detect color. This continued for about an hour, then I started to feel myself come down, so I went to smoke half of the remaining elemi cigarette, though I ended up smoking about 2/3 of the remaining cig.

This time it was a tad stronger, I got much more euphoria and a rather strong head buzz, colors were more vivid and light was brighter, and light and music felt a lot more interesting, I had more appreciation of both. I also got more vivid CEV's, swishing colors, shapes and patterns, one was of fuzzy pink balls, that looked ever so soft and snuggly. I found myself laughing spontaniously a lot, I probably could have controled it, but I decided to just go with it, because I do love a good laugh. I also found that if I stared at a wall long enough, I could begin to see whooshing and flowing colors, faintly, but they were still there.

Another aspect of this experience was an emotional and thinking aspects. My thoughts seemed to slow, and become more refined, and I felt at one with the world, and yet lonely, and craving some form of human contact, I texted several friends, one told me they couldn't talk because they were at the local tea house, I wished for a moment I was with him, as I love the tea house, but I got over it quickly, he was the only one to text me back, it was a little bit of a bummer, but I got over it and went on with my evening. All in all, I just wanted to be spending time with someone, anyone, preferably everyone, but someone would have been magical too. About an hour and a half after smoking the second time, I started to come down, I enjoyed the mild plateau that seemed to come after the peak.

After enjoying what I refer to as the 'after buzz', a period of mild euphoria and a head buzz for about an hour, I smoked the last few drags off the cigarette. Right now, I am enjoying that mild buzz, with slight euphoria. I also feel some eye strain for some reason, I think it's the perceived brightness of the lights personally, but I don't know for sure.

All in all it was not a bad little substance, not mind blowing, but good for a decent buzz. Don't know what I'll do with the cigs I added too much too, they have several times as much as this one did, and that interests me, although at the same time, I should still exercize caution, whatever I decide, I'm sure it'll be alright.
