2 Tbsp | oral | Skullcap | (tea) |
T+ 0:50 | 2 Tbsp | oral | Skullcap | (tea) |
BODY WEIGHT: | 130 lb |
I am a 130 lb female, I frequently smoke cannabis and enjoy the occasional benzo. I do suffer from anxiety. I am currently taking a tolerance break from cannabis as its use over time makes the anxiety worse.
I prepared the Skullcap in boiling water, I used two generous tablespoons and let it sit for 10 minutes. The water became greenish and smelled very earthy. I strained it out into a mug. The taste was not bad, it was earthy of course, but nothing worse then a very strong brewing of a black tea.
I drank this on an empty stomach.
Mentally, I was quite stressed, a little apathetic this morning.
T+10 minutes: Typing online to a friend. I start to feel a little different, like a relaxation in the face? I considered this as placebo.
T+15 minutes: Go out to kitchen, and clean up my mess. Say hello to my cat. I feel considerably more relaxed, but I am still wary of a placebo effect.
T+20 minutes: Stomach feels warm, tea must be digesting. I feel a little wobbly, relaxed and fuzzy. Reminds me of a small dose of a benzo. I am still wary of placebo effects.
T+25 minutes: I have a cigarette outside. The weather is beautiful, not too cold, but brisk and sunny. The sunshine feels amazing on my skin. I look off into the distance and feel moreso relaxed, almost as if I am sliding on the porch.
T+30 minutes: This is not placebo. I give my cat some catnip and find myself overly amused by her antics. I feel euphoric and glowy.
T+45 minutes: Not sure if the effect will peak any further. I am certain it is a psychoactive substance. I put on some relaxing music. It sounds very nice. My head feels shrouded with relaxation.
Keep in mind, these effects are very mild, nothing compared to cannabis, but certainly enjoyable. I am going to make another cup now, as it has been 50 minutes. This time has seemed to pass very quickly, as opposed to my bleak morning.
I feel, mentally, a bit better. I am considering calling a friend or going outside to the park. Previously I wanted to mope in bed and ignore the world.
Okay, it's now 2:04. I made a mixture of 2 tablespoons and 1.5 cups of water. I let the mixture steep until it was the same color as before. I added honey and sugar this time. I think I actually prefer the tea without the additives. Bottoms up.
2:45 - I do not think I let the herbs steep long enough; I do not feel the same effects, if any at all. Steeping for at least 10 minutes, covered, in boiling water, seems needed.
So, for a first-use report, I am pleased. I do not know what continuous use is like with Skullcap. I intend on blending it with Valerian, Damiana, and possibly Passionflower in the future.
