I bought a couple of 30mg freebase AMT pellets for using at a music festival, and decided to test out one pellet before hand. I was alone in my bedroom through the entire experience, which was just to make sure I didnt react badly when I took it at the festival as I was in a safe place in my room.
The trip itself took longer than expected to kick in, and wasn't as intense as I had hoped, however there were some beautiful dancing patterns on the ceiling around my light, and colour was somewhat intensified. After a while I was researching research chemicals and found out about MPTP. This was not the best thing to read about while tripping and I started seeing dead people, skeletons and spiders, but I didnt let the scary stuff get the better of me and it eventually went pleasant again. Also I had an awful headache on the left side, which eventually spread to my neck and the other side of my head. It was sort of a burning but cold pain. This lasted for a few days.
The unexpected part of the trip, was that it drastically reduced my neuropathic pain! I have Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathy, and a symptom of that is neuropathic pain (which is basically the nerves thinking they are in pain because they are so messed up... sort of) during the trip the pain came and went in waves (it's always there when sober), however after the trip the whole time I had the headache (maybe 3 days) the neuropathic pain was not there, at all. This was amazing as I have suffered with it for so long and tried all the prescribed drugs that are used (there are no drugs specifically for neuropathic pain yet, as very little is known about it) I am even prescribed morphine but that doesn't really help, I just use it to sleep. I did not use the morphine within a week either side of using the AMT to be safe.
My experience with AMT has led me to believe that there must be so many drugs which could help, however are not used because of the potential for abuse, and I think this is awful, as the only drugs that are available all made me quite ill. I'm extremely hopeful this other tryptamine turns out to be successful in neuropathic pain, and after seeing the affects AMT had, I am very optimistic however this is all speculation and I could be totally wrong.
