Citation:   Capn kook. "Scared Addictions Away: An Experience with Salvia divinorum (20x extract) (exp97771)". Erowid.org. Mar 12, 2020. erowid.org/exp/97771

DOSE:
250 mg smoked Salvia divinorum (extract)
BODY WEIGHT: 130 lb
For 5 years straight my life has been gripped by a constant addiction to various drugs. The famous white powder and cannabis have always been my top favorites. And the ones hardest to quit. Whenever I tried to stop using either substance, I could never seem to stay clean for more than a week without the withdrawal from blow bringing back again. Until one day that I stumbled onto an article about salvia and its effect on the k-opiod system in the brain. One of the receptors which ibogaine also activates.

Having done my research on said receptor I decided it was my ticket out of this hell hole. So I bought some 20x salvia from my local headshop. Finished what I had to do that day and at 11:00pm while I sat in my bed room with the lights dimmed and my ipod playing decided, its time to 'change' who I am. I loaded my water pipe with the ingredients, took a mean ol rip with some german techno blazing through my earphones, held in the smoke for what seemed like 20 seconds, and then BOOOM!

The first thing I felt was an intense feeling of pure FEAR thats the only way to describe it. Then, I completely dissociated into the song I was listening too, time slowed down and I was gone, my body felt like it was pulled away from me completely. Flashes of lights and memories of my ex seemed to come before me and feelings felt before came back. The song hadnt even ended when I came back from the experience and found it really hard to move. After a while it all cleared up and for the first time in my life I felt normal again, I no longer had the urge in my head to keeping snorting just to function. I felt free in a way, like the plant liberated me from the shackles of my addictions.

For me salvia seemed to scare away my addictive behaviours. No other way to put it.
