I had seen these growing many times before but never had the time or desire to try them. Now however my schedule is cleared of important things and coupled with some good internet research The Time Was Right to experiment with it.
I tried making a small amount in a rolled paper and it only made me a little jumpy right after. About an hour later I instead made a 1 square inch portion picked apart in hot apple cinnamon tea, drinking all the parts. This had no effect.
So another day passed and I read something which recommended not heating it over 60C. I tried this time with about 2 sq inches of a small cap, broken like before into crumbs, added to apple cinnamon tea. This being more researched I thought maybe something would happen. I would say little or no effect was felt. Maybe a minor headache around 16 hours later that I took some ibuprofen to avoid.
Later the next day I made new discovery of a few ways to prepare this substance. This being to make it into a fine powder and add a drop of olive oil till it is a thick paste. This paste could be interred through skin so I placed the stuff on my forehead (I had made as fine a powder as possible with a sharp dicing knife and scissors). This caused my brain to provide me with a slight 'out of gourd' feeling for one sharp instant while I stood at the sink washing a dish. Very interesting, it was as though my body fell backwards and yet I hadn't moved at all. I would describe this as a bizarre feeling. I have had these sort of vertiginous things happen in the past, as when I was around 36 I once got out of bed at 3AM and fell sideways with no control. That proves that sometimes the equilibrium can just fail.
