BODY WEIGHT: | 160 lb |
When researching the correct dosage to smoke, the amount seems to be all over the place; from a ½ gram to 15 grams. This is because herbs can effect different people in different ways, regardless of body weight. To test myself for any negative/allergic reactions I might have, I chose to start with 1.5g. I broke the Lotus into 2 parts of .75g apiece. My personality is inverted and easygoing and I am not under any particularly excessive stresses, or any feelings of depression etc during this. Here is my report:
>10:45pm I roll up .75g lotus and smoked it.
>11:15pm Felt overall calmer than I did before. Something like tobacco. I was outside in the dark. Though not fond of the dark, I felt ok.
>11:45pm An hour passed since the first joint. No negative effects experienced at this point, in fact nothing much at all other than feeling calm, so I rolled the other .75g of lotus and smoked it. Went inside to my bedroom.
>11:55pm-12:45am I stayed up for about an hour. Here are commonly written Blue Lotus effects that I personally did not feel at all: colors more vibrant, intoxicated feeling like alcohol without dizziness and mental fog, warmth around head and upper body, mild hallucinations, elevated feeling of happiness, fatigue. I lay down at 12:45am to sleep feeling like I had done nothing more than smoked a cigarette or two. If someone had told me that outside in the dark, I had actually smoked 2 cigarettes, I would have believed them. The only difference was that Blue Lotus tastes better than tobacco.
The only difference was that Blue Lotus tastes better than tobacco.
>1:30am Woke up feeling like I had to urinate. For a moment it was as if I felt maybe 100lbs heavier in bed, which was unusual. But after getting out of bed I did not feel it again. I went into the next partially lit room heading for the bathroom. Walking towards the ceiling light pull chain (it was dark but I could see due to another light nearby) it momentarily felt as if I needed to take an extra few steps to reach the pull chain than normal. Weird, either like time slowed, or I had to reach extrrraaa far to grab hold of the pull chain. That was a strange feeling. Used the bathroom but not much came out. I would like to exaggerate and say I saw mad hallucinations and it was a perfect replacement for weed, like many seem to experience. The moment of heaviness and funky feeling reaching for the pull switch were the only ‘trippy’ things that stood out for me. Sorry for the bore... But I’m glad I didn’t take more than 1.5g or sleep might have been a wee bit worse. I went back to bed and lay down. Every time I fell asleep it was as if I had a very slight muscle twitch somewhere deep inside of me that would jolt me out of sleep. Happened every 5 minutes or so? I also had this very brief (½ to 1 second) little split headaches that would come and go with the muscle twitch. It was intense, but more irritating than anything. If it wasn’t the muscle twitch waking me up, it was the quick pierce of pain that came and went.
>3:22am A light bulb of smartness lit in my mind and I was like ‘hey, we have pain pills around. Duhh’ Took one acetaminophen which seemed to help as I was able to fall asleep around
>4am. Around this time I finally began to sleep without interruption.
This all happened last night. In retrospect, I do not believe anything I experienced as far as head pain, twitching while sleeping, and calmness prior to sleeping, were due to any placebo or pre-conceived anxiety. Start to finish I never felt anxious. I did feel calm, though not overly. I definitely felt many brief muscle spasms and stabs of head pain. The spasms and head pain were brief so they were more annoying at the time because I was trying to sleep. Now at 2:15 pm the next afternoon, I still feel the head pain as a very mild but throbbing sort of headache. Not sure about the weird heaviness and the feeling at the light switch. I can say I definitely experience something because though I was groggy, I had to actually pinch myself to see if I was lucid dreaming, which I was not. So there was definitely a little something out of the ordinary. Like I said in the beginning, herbs or drugs will effect different people in different ways sometimes regardless of bodyweight. Rarely if at all have I read a review that mentioned negative effects of smoking Blue Lotus, so that is what compelled me to write this. I still have a lot of blue Lotus left so and intend to try some more.
