I have tried pretty much most of the drugs there are out there and have years of experience with mostly mushrooms, meth, Weed, LSD and Alcohol, so I have decided to submit an experience to the vault.

I have had chronic back pain over 5 years now and the doctors started me on tramadol to start with and ended up on 30mg oxycontin morning and night and 5mg oxynorms when I needed extra and 20mg citalopram, 50mg Diclofenac, 20mg Omeprazole. I have come to the point were I'm sick of being on oxycodone, so the doctor has put me on Amitriptyline to try before I try gabapentin.

I started on my change from oxy and citalopram to amitrip and was not looking forward to the withdrawals from the oxy at all. So I started amitrip 75mg each night and it was one of the most drained/no energy four days I've had, wasn't fun. But it definitely helped with the withdrawals from oxy heaps. It stopped the restless arm/leg syndrome from oxy withdrawal all together which made me very happy as I hate it, I get it in my arms and it drives me crazy. Also I usually can't sleep while going through oxy withdrawals but the amitrip knocked me right out in and out of sleep for the next 4 days it was good solid sleeps without waking up with the sweats etc.

Pain levels though these four days were not too bad the amitrip seams to take away the sharp pain but body feels worn out like I have a flu and I can only get up and do something for 5min then I would have to get back and rest in bed again. The other side effects I experienced from Amitriptyline I had were dry mouth, nausea, constipation, muscle stiffness, dizziness, blurred vision, urinary retention, cold feet, very sedative during the first few days till I get use to it. Some of these side effects could also be from the oxy withdrawal.

So its now been 7 days clean from oxy! but the pain seams to be coming back a bit more now so I'm taking 100mg tonight. But I don't think its gona be enough to manage my pain and I don't like the side effects or the way it sedates me so much and taking it during the day seams to me the side effects worse. I will try and hang in there a bit longer before I go back to the doctor to get some gabapentin to try. Then if no luck I guess its back to the oxy combined with ami or gaba I guess.
