DOSE:
150 mg oral Pharms - Bupropion (daily)
BODY WEIGHT: 140 lb
I started on bupropion for treating severe depression. I had already tried several other antidepressants, with no success - they would either make me too light-headed, or otherwise affect me physically.

I am on the lowest dose. Sometimes I'm told this is inneffective if you don't raise it up to 300mg, but I don't agree. I have noticed significant improvement without it affecting the rest of my life too much.
I have noticed significant improvement without it affecting the rest of my life too much.
No impact on libido, like fluoxetine, sertraline and citalopram had. After 4 years of depression, I wasn't able to produce anything. I'd have to drag myself to work, and stare at the screen. This had been going on for years. It's horrible to look back and see that I was basically a ghost, useless, for such a long period of time. I finally can get through the day at work and follow a project until it's finished. For the first time in years I have results to look at. I also noticed I am much less sensitive to social anxiety. It used to take me over half an hour to wind down after a conversation or worse, talking in public.

I have not smoked for years, but my theory is that previous exposure to nicotine when younger must have affected my brain in the way that bupropion is effective for me just like it is for smokers. I does make me less tolerant to alcohol. I have not had motivation to drink for several months. It makes it taste bad and I feel dizzy and puffed even if I get just a tad bit of beer. The thing is, I think it's for the best. Because I was so depressed and bitter, whenever I got a little buzzed I'd start saying things that people really didn't have to hear. Not doing it helps me keep my cool and I don't have anything to regret saying the next day.

The only time I noticed the seizures they mention that happen if you mix bupropion and alcohol was when I took norflex. That did not knock me off, but did make me really light sensitive for about a day. I know this is not a long, epic story, but I do hope that this can illustrate that this thing can actually be used for good.
