Well here goes my experience with four-acetoxy DMT. I am an eighteen year old male with long standing experience in most drugs. I have previously consumed large amounts of LSD, DXM, DMT, Mushrooms, mescaline, 2c-b, Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine, Pills, and other things. All that being said, this is one of the most intense psychedelic experiences of my entire life.
Well, about a week before this happened I ordered some 4-aco-dmt from an online dealer, and arrived home one day to find it waiting for me in a nice little bubble envelope. I took it up to my room and did a little test on it. The bag contained 118 milligrams of the chemical, of which I maybe ate 10-20 mgs. of before doing some chores and heading out. I noticed a little come-up feeling similar to ecstasy. My body felt so good I was amazed. This feeling lasted for a few hours with very slight visual distortion and trails. It ended without much happening a few hours after I took it.
So the next day I decided to jump into the deep end with the substance. Having around a hundred milligrams left, I planned on eating maybe half of it and saving the rest. Well shortly after waking up, I took about half the remaining chemical and ate it. The effects hit me around fifteen minutes after I took it, on my way to the local library. I was wearing sunglasses and looked around noticing a very nice psychedelic effect on my vision, a definite ++ at this point. I entered the library, walking around for a little while, before heading into the basement. I listened to some music for a while, played a little guitar, and talked to some people. I went outside for a smoke after a while and noticed the effects were coming down, so I headed into the bathroom and devoured the rest of the chemical.
After eating the remaining powder, I went back into the basement where things really started to heat up. I began to notice very obvious psychedelic patterns on everything, walls moving, things pulsating. The effects began to grow stronger and stronger, until I noticed with a huge smile on my face that there was this odd liquid coming from my face (tears?). I sat trying to listen to the band Modest Mouse noticing that the music seemed very high pitched and metallic. I tried to make a phone call but when I looked at my phone all the contacts appeared as signs like this: #. All the way down, all the numbers and names were just repeated hash tags. I caught a slice of the fear at this point when I began to think the CIA had entered the library and was locking my phone and computer. I heard official voices all around me, such as the CIA would sound like, so I thought I was going down for buying this chemical. I ran outside to realize everything was fine. Now I’m tripping very hard, visual distortion is full, and as I try to talk my voice comes out in indecipherable babbles with a high metallic/ reptilian pitch to it. I sounded like a robot lizard. The smile on my face kept growing bigger and bigger and the trip kept getting harder and harder. I went back into the library and back to the basement where I began to spiral out of control.
Back in the library basement I began to lose myself and sense of morals. I remember trying to use a guitar and treating the thing very roughly as I tried to put it away. Back at the computer, I was finding myself on the ground where I located one of my cigarettes. I lit the cigarette and began smoking it. One of the people working at the library comes over and very nervously says to me, “hey, uhh, there’s no smoking in here.” I reminded myself of Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I look at the man, and say “oh yeah?” as I continue smoking. This ends with me getting kicked out of the library, now entering a full ++++ trip. My friend comes to help me out, as I am severely disoriented and can’t really talk. She takes me to Dunkin Donuts and buys me a latte. With latte in hand, we travel to a nearby bus stop, where I completely lose it. I began sitting at the bus stop, then slouching then sprawled out on the ground, completely unresponsive to my friend’s calls. She kept slapping me and telling me to get up because the police would come. I had no hope of answering her or moving from the ground, as I had retreated into a full inner head-trip. I was dissolved in my thoughts, endlessly looping, confusing thoughts, that would multiply and multiply, and it would go to pain and more pain. I became conscious of a very high pitched noise that kept happening, as it was me screaming in horror at the pictures that filled my mind. Good and bad things crossed my thoughts as they chased each other around infinitely. I came to a realization that all the events in my life were false and that I was the only thing in the universe. The thoughts got more and more intense as I was transported to thousands of inner worlds and thought loops. It was pure, unfiltered insanity.
While all this was going on in my head, people driving by noticed me sprawled out on the ground mumbling and screaming to myself and someone called an ambulance. I was carried off to the hospital.
I descended further and further into this inner hell, thinking every event in my life was a dream and entering space where words had no meaning whatsoever. The whole thing lasted a few more hours until I woke up in the emergency room at the hospital, still tripping very hard. I had no idea what had happened to me or what day/ time it was. Thankfully only about four or five hours had passed since I ate the chemical. It filled my head with another scene from Fear and Loathing, where Hunter is eating adrenochrome and descending deeper and deeper into the psychedelic hell, while his lawyer just repeats, “you took too much man.” Eventually they let me out of the hospital, and walk home.
What did I learn from this? Be very careful with research chems. I am careless and never use a scale for measuring out my trips, which is why this happened. I also learned that no matter how overly-intense the trip, I always want to go back. This experience did not scare me off from any psychedelics for any reason; instead it made me want more.
