Forty years ago this month: The DEA's predecessor, the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, reported in Microgram that, "Brown powder alleged to be mescaline was recently analyzed by our Chicago Regional Laboratory. It was found to be ground Hawaiian Baby Wood Rose." Apparently mescaline has been in short supply for a long time! They then noted, "Sniffing toilet bowl deodorants is reportedly a growing fad among youngsters in parts of the Northeast."

Crew Notes
Crew members have completed the arduous, dusty process of cataloging the Stolaroff Collection. Thousands of historically valuable papers, letters, and ephemera have been sorted, organized, labeled, and sent off to a company specialized in bulk digitizing.

Also, results of our lab's GC/MS analysis of the material sold as 2C-B-fly, which has led to the death of at least three people, confirmed the results of another lab, identifying the substance as bromo-dragonfly, a chemical with nearly 10x the potency of 2C-B-fly.
